I loved seeing beautiful black people, I mean all shades of black just vibing and having a good time, I also say I Toussaint Prater knew how to throw a fuckin party because this white and gold theme... chef's kiss. For the first hour or so I sat off to the side, just watching... I was the type to take in the vibe before diving in; Ahmet and Yogi were already at the open bar taking shots of the very expensive free liquor, I noticed Qasim sandwiched between two beautiful black women, Zyn was dancing... or fuckin some light-skinned chick, and Titan seemed to be arguing with Deuce. With all that going on I still managed to spot Ra'Quise who was sitting at a table in the corner by himself, like me he seemed to be watching everything that was going on before engaging in the party. I figured this would be as good a time as any to really shoot my shot, or at the very least get my name on the board; Zyn had made it perfectly clear that he and Ra'Quise were just friends so I had no issue with trying to get to know him a little better, Ra'Quise noticed me walking towards him and despite his earlier coldness, he pulled out a chair next to him... a clear invitation for me to join him at his table.
"Let me guess... you can't dance and you don't wanna embarrass yourself?" I asked smiling and Ra'Quise's face when from polite to cold in a split second.
"Nigga I can dance better than you... and probably everyone here." Ra'Quise said confidently, little did he know he had fallen right into my trap.
"Oh yeah? Prove it...." I said standing up and offering him my hand, Ra'Quise looked at it for a second and I could tell he was struggling between wanting to accept this challenge and prove himself while also not wanting to cross a line with someone he worked with.... Finally, his pride won out and we were on the dancefloor.
The first song was a song meant for dancing, basically nothing too crazy just matching the movements of our bodies with the music and vibing.... The second song was a little more risque... I wasn't sure if Ra'Quise was the twerking type but I guess he wanted to show me... it was a challenge because I could barely keep up, not because I can't dance but I was focusing more on keeping my dick from getting hard than the actual dance moves. The third song... damn I couldn't believe I had even made it to three songs with the same person but Ra'Quise.... It was a slow song and we were grinding on the dancefloor, I had given up on trying to keep my dick from getting hard he was about to feel these inches.....
"Aight man you got it...." I said as we made our way back to the table. "You've been to a couple of frat parties have you?" I asked as we sat down.
"My cousin goes to Jackson State, so whenever they throw something I always get invited." Ra'Quise said smiling.
"So why aren't you in college... if you don't mind me asking?" I asked genuinely wanting to know because he seemed smart as fuck and I was curious.
"I want to be a paramedic, I don't see a point in spending boatloads of money for four years on a degree when I can learn everything I need to know in six months to two years. Sure college would be good but... I don't know." Ra'Quise said shrugging.
"I think you should give it another chance... there's more to college than just sitting in a classroom and parties... there's other stuff as well." I said smiling. "College is a place where you come into your own, make lifelong friends... brothers, you get to find out who you are as a person away from your family." I said and Ra'Quise started laughing.
"Please don't tell me this is your attempt to get me to come to college just so I can pledge... I'm sorry but I'm not with that fraternity shyt. Don't get me wrong I got love for frat dudes but I REFUSE to pay for a nigga to paddle and brand me with some Greek letters." Ra'Quise said.
"No offense, but I don't think your fraternity material... especially not MY fraternity. You seem too free... I can tell you got a slick ass mouth and you seem like the type who wouldn't put up with the pledging process....." I said and Ra'Quise nodded. "But I still think you should give college another look, even if it's just a community college." I said.
