before we process with the current chapter, I would love to thank our spons- *GUNSHOTS*
and we're back, I actually wanted to inform you guys that you should take a look at the trigger list in the Prelude chapter!
Also thinking about changing the pronounce to they/them and making y/n gender neutral:)
Once their young childish self found out about the curse they were doomed with, life took many turns just like a wild rollercoaster ride. Dying in the most stupid ways possible on a daily basis — reminding them of a cartoon character, which one, however, they could not place their finger on.As the seasons changed and Y/n grew older to be a smart middle schooler, they realized that humans are assholes (and will try to gatekeep everything at any chance given).
They knew — once their parents had carefully explained to them that people would discriminate against them simply because of not owning a special quirk — that there would be hate and many other cruel things thrown their way. It was the nature of humans, to hate everything that they didn't like or anything that their human brain couldn't comprehend.
It was a cruel world after all.
The young individual knew that people would be cruel to them, they had witnessed it countless times before. Regardless of that, it still shocked them to hear someone wish death upon them, It was as if an arrow was pierced through their heart. Until they eventually became numb to the words of cruelty, along the way picking up countless of unhealthy coping mechanisms.
"You should take a dive off the roof already, it's not like you'll magically get a quirk or something."
"Maybe there is a quirk waiting for you in your next life."
Middle school was the closest thing to hell, they had ever experienced. Misunderstandings with their high IQ being a quirk, the struggle to make new friends, the constant bullying students would put them through, and the never-ending dying. It was all so incredibly draining — both mentally and physically. It eventually lead them to skip lessons more often, the other reason being that they didn't see why they should even bother to learn more and more, after all, they already possessed the knowledge of many things.
Life lost its meaning to them. Their mind slowly fogged over which led them to become more numb every day passing. Even though they had Hitoshi as their best friend for the last eleven years, and he managed to make them genuinely happy, that vast hole in their heart could only be cured by mortality and the final waltz of the suffocating pain.
The sun was long gone, shining on the other side of the globe. The time has come for the white moon to lead the people into a deep slumber of everlasting darkness.
Hence, there they stood. The fresh wind hits their body, making their hair fall into their face. Overlooking the city, their gaze slowly wandered towards the moon and then to the slightly visible clouds, which seemed incredibly close and reachable. The sleepy individual took a long breath and then proceeded to continue humming the soothing melody of their favorite song.
Short moments like this were held close to their beating heart as they sat down with their legs dangling over the edge of the brick railing, a smile gazed their lips. All alone, moments before dying.
Y/n could tell that it was slowly getting late as their eyes found the bright billboard that illuminated the current time. 10:49 PM.
Every seventh day of the week, they would climb the same stairs of the same grey-black building, staring at the same sun setting and let the same time pass, all over again, and after that, they would go to sleep, wake up in their comfortable bed under the same white covers like every damn morning.
"I should start looking for a new building, this one is starting to bore me to death." They chuckled at the pun they have made.
Y/n proceeded to get up — behind the railing for now— their legs no longer dangling over the edge. Their eyes followed the people, who seemed small like ants, minding their problems and own boring lives. Meaningless little ants doing little meaningless things.
A sudden pain jolted through their back, making them wince and take a step back from the railing of the tall building. The feeling of a thousand needles piercing their back eventually turned into an uncomfortable feeling in their upper back. Their face grimaced in discomfort as they stood upright again, making their spinal cord stand in a straight position which only seemed to increase the suffering of the uncontrollable uncomfortable feeling.
Taking a deep breath they pulled themselves together, they wouldn't let back pain ruin their Sunday night. Eyes closed, they continued to hum the familiar melody that seemed to hold them together from breaking apart like millions of broken mirror fractions.
Y/n took a step forward, hands laying flat on the low brick wall whose sole purpose was to protect people from accidental falling off. Unfortunately, this was an invitation to every suicidal person in the whole prefecture.
They stood tall on the railing, ignoring the growing pain in their upper back. They stretched their arms out, like Rose in Titanic would do, and let the fresh wind hit them.
"And when you've reached the top, there's nowhere else to go but-"
Fall.
And, so they did.
Even more cold wind hit their body as they made a free fall towards the ground. Eyes firmly closed as tears slipped — it was because of the wind, they told themself.
Wanting to see the beauty before they would
slip into unconscious, they opened their tearing eyes to see the people going by without even knowing what would fall upon them.'Will they ever notice me falling, over and over again?' They asked themself, slowly feeling sleepy and drained out.
As their eyes closed over and over again, they only could see crimson before slipping away into a slumber of darkness.
The blonde individual sighed as he caught the seemingly suicidal teenager from falling into their demise. One arm under their neck and the other under the legs. He made sure to steady their head, not wanting them to choke on their own tongue. He flew away with them being secured in his arms, the only sound being the flapping of his crimsons wings and the white kfc plastic bag that was draped over his shoulder.
Poor Hawks only wanted to enjoy his Sunday evening with some chicken wings, well but heroes never have a day off, now have they?
