Staying overnight at a hospital was not on their to-do list, yet here they were.

Y/n hands fiddled with the hem of their white shirt, as the moonshine fell into their room. Their thoughts ran a mile as they tried to process the dream they had. They couldn't remember what the dream was about, yet they knew that it felt vivid like a memory.

Shakily standing they made their way toward the door of the room. The door squeaked as it fell open. Peering their head out, they were met with an empty hall.

It was all so quiet, their feet not making a sound as they made their way down the dimly lit hall, they neared the small office of the nurses. Light peered out signaling that Y/n wasn't alone after all. Then the clicking of a keyboard could be heard and that was the only thing that gave the hospital some sort of life at this late hour.

Nighttime at a hospital was weird and unsettling.

Their feet felt like they were moving on their own, as Y/n suddenly found themself standing before a door. The door to the rooftop.

Y/n had the sudden urge to stargaze. The moon and the stars gave them comfort, and there was this deep void in them which screamed for some kind of ease. Yet when they tried to open the door, it was locked.

Of course, the door would be locked.

Y/n sighed, the window of their room should do too.

Making their way back, they shuddered. It was cold. So cold that the hairs on their arms began to stand up. Just as they passed the office of the nurses, they heard a voice speak up beside them. "What are you doing at such a late hour?"

It was a nurse that had previously taken a few physical tests on Y/n.

"I have a headache and wanted to know if I could get some painkillers?" They said, seemingly only now realizing the throbbing pain that their head suffered.

"Of course," the nurse said, helping Y/n back to their room and handing them a small pill with a glass of water. They chucked it down, thanked the nurse, and snuggled back under the covers hoping to get some more dreamless sleep.

"...and if I a double-decker bus, crashes into us, to die by your side is such a heavenly way to die-"

Y/n softly hummed the lyrics to the song, as their hands played with the white cord of the headphones.

It was now around 10.30 am, as they waited for the tv broadcast of the sports festival to begin. And after several more minutes of humming melodies, they saw the tv change to the figure of her English teacher. She took her headphones off and stopped the music from continuing to play.
