HITOSHI's concern grew over the day

HITOSHI's concern grew over the day. In school, he was nervously tapping his fingers against his desk. He waited eagerly for the school day to finally end. And when it did end, he was running down the street to the train station sometimes occasionally bumping into people. Hitoshi had a mission, and this mission was to smack his best friend on the back of the head.

When Hitoshi arrived at the Shikatsu residence, he was out of breath. His hands rested on his knees as he tried to catch oxygen. His indigo hair swayed in the wind. He was just about to knock on the door when it was abruptly thrown open revealing Y/n's father. Her father was, no doubt, a nice man. It didn't bother him the slightest that Hitoshi was almost every day at their home. His daughter and Hitoshi were kindergarten friends after all, and he somehow saw him as a third son.

"Good evening, Shikatsu-san," Hitoshi said, fiddling with the straps of his backpack.

"Quit the formalities, Shinso," the older Shikatsu said, giving Hitoshi a friendly slap to the back inviting him into the house. "I assume you're here for Y/n. Well, she is upstairs in her room. Please try and get her out of it, she hadn't left it since Saturday. I'm off to a meeting, goodbye and greet your parents!" Her father shouted slamming the door shut. Y/n mother wasn't home either, she was probably with the younger kids out. He placed his backpack next to the door and walked the stairs up.

Y/n's form rested on the soft mattress. She was woken up several minutes ago by her father, who wanted to make sure she still breathed.

'I smell horrible, I probably should take a shower', she thought.

She heard the door slam shut, which meant her father was off for work. Her white cat, named Star, slumbered comfortably on her stomach. Suddenly, catching the e/c eyed girl of guard, the bedroom door was thrown open. It slammed against the wall, the loud noise startling star and her e/c eyed owner. Star hissed, accidentally scratching the right arm of Y/n.

"FUCK!"

The white cat jumped down the bed and ran through the door to god knows where. The once darkened room was now filled with the brightness of the hallway. She glared at the person who dared to interrupt her silence filled room. "What the fuck! Toshi, you startled the shit out of me!" She yelled at her indigo haired friend. He just shrugged, and answered calmly but annoyed, "serves you right."

"Because of you Star scratched me," she mumbled, walking past him through the door towards the bathroom.

"As I said, serves you right." She ignored his mean statement and continue to disinfect the scatch wound. She took a bandage from the mirrored cabinet. Hitoshi watched in amusement as the girl struggled to bandage her arm. He noticed how her eyes looked more tired than usual, how she couldn't stand straight and her hands were a shaking mess. Hitoshi was about to help her, but before he even could say something, she had thrown the bandage in the sink. "Fuck this. I will just shower," she said while showing the purple-eyed boy out and locking the door.

Hitoshi stood there perplexed, before walking into the living room turning the Television on. He lazily watched how plankton turned everybody into babies while texting his mother, that he's at Y/n's. He flinched when out of nowhere Star jumped onto the couch. The Scottish fold-ear cat rubbed her head in an affectioned way against Hitoshi's arm. He took the cat in his lap and started to stroke her. Somehow, he ended up laying on the couch with Star hovering in the air making a superman-pose.

"Would you stop abusing my cat?" Y/n asked standing in the doorway. A frown was visible on her face as she took Star from Hitoshi.

"Did the cat abuser hurt you, my poor baby?" She asked in a pitched voice, holding star in her arms like a evil mastermind from a awful movie would do. Hitoshi just scoffed at her insult, and sat up so she could join him on the couch.

"What are you even doing here and still in your school uniform?" She asked stroking the white cat. Hitoshi ignored the question, lazily looking at the TV where Spongebob tried to pass his driving license again. "How was your appointment at the doctors?"

"Huh what-"

She felt numbness overtake her body, it was impossible for her to move. 'Damn Hitoshi and his quirk', she thought.

"Tell me, why did you lie to me?" His attention has now turned to his friend, who was unable to move. She was aware that she couldn't fight back. Her mouth opened, and the words just spilled from it, impossible to stop.

"I don't want to be a burden to you, because you already have so much on your mind."

The pen hit the paper angrily. Left hand curled into his hair while the other one wrote. Several hours have passed since Hitoshi was at Y/n's. Actually, he wanted to get her out of her room like her father had told him to, maybe go to the arcade or somewhere else. But then he realised he had to learn for a math exam. He was aware, that Y/n also had to learn since they were in the same class, but would she even show up to school?

Another thing why he had left earlier was because he was angry. Not at Y/n, she hasn't done anything wrong after all. Hitoshi was angry at himself because he had used his Quirk at her. She wouldn't be angry or disappointed she even allowed him, if necessary to use his quirk at her, but was it necessary? 'No' he thought. It was just a foolish try to make her talk to him. When he asked her why she lied to him, he was surprised. Her words echoed in his mind, he tried to shrug it of and to concentrate on his study lesson, but it wouldn't work.

"I don't want to be a burden to you, because you already have so much on your mind."

After she had told him that, he had set her free from his quirk. 'I don't want to force her to tell me', were his thoughts back there. 'Why on earth would she be a burden to me.' He was getting frustrated, he couldn't stand how complicated she was. "I hate studying!" He exclaimed while grabbing his head in frustration.

Let's say he was beyond surprised, when she started to show up more often at school.
