"SHE IS STRANGE AND UNUSUAL." That would most people say about Y/n's younger self. At the young age of five, she already could solve multiply tasks without a problem. She was told, she was a little Einstein. Perhaps, even more, intelligent than Albert Einstein himself.
It wasn't just her mathematical knowledge, it was the knowledge she had in general that fascinated people. The maximum of kids would struggle to learn Kanji in elementary school, there while she just could it like she had known it an eternity. It's like everything in the world has been put into her head. Ask her what a Myosotis is? She would know and tell you every small detail about the flower. People guessed her quirk had to do something with her enormous intelligence. Not only were her parents surprised, when it turned out she was quirkless, but the whole neighborhood was also gossiping about the fragile genius.
"She may not have a quirk but she is gifted with enormous intelligence," is what the doctor had said to her parents once they found out she didn't inherit a quirk. Not having a quirk however didn't change the way they saw her. They loved and still love her, she is their daughter after all.
Since Y/n was a clever little girl, she tended to be more truthful to other kids. One time in kindergarten, two kids talked about Santa Claus, in the end, they both cried because Y/n told them his existence was made up. They even started to cry more when she told them the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny, and also the Sandman were just a fairy tale. Other kids thought she was a mean girl, although she just tended to be a bit too truthful, which caused her not to have any friends. However, the Santa Claus incident was how she met her future best friend.
Shinso Hitoshi's first impression of Shikatsu
Y/n was, that she was ridiculously bright for her young age. A little too much of a genius if you were to ask him. It was impressive even fascinating that someone this young could be so smart, but albeit this smartness he never paid much attention to her. They never had a conversation with each other, but since they both were in the Rain Group, it had to happen one day, didn't it?To Hitoshi's bad fate, he also was lacking friends. Kids found him scary because of his quirk, some even would consider calling him 'villain', because of this he preferred to stay alone in kindergarten. Yet, when he saw how the young Shikatsu was telling two girls, from the rainbow group, Santa was a fairy tale, which caused them to break down in tears, he couldn't stop himself not to laugh. He doesn't exactly know why he did break down in a fit of laugher back then, it may be because of how careless Y/n told them Santa was made-up.
After the young girl was forced to apologize to the girls for making them cry, she was sprinting down the hallway. Her small legs carrying her to the playground to the person she had searched for. She eventually found the lonely boy by the swings. He was swinging at a slow speed, other kids not paying much attention to him. When she stopped right in front of him, he looked up from the ground to her face.
"C-can I help-" Hitoshi's sentence was cut off by the girl that obvious was out of breath.
"Why- Why d-did you laugh?" She spoke up, her voice growing with confidence.
