All This Time

Chapter 8

"So our next move is grand theft auto?" Sam says as we walk into a huge garage.

Zemo told us he needed something.

"These are my mine, collected by family over generations," he says as we walk up to a car. "I spent years searching for the people hydra recruited to recreate the serum, because once it's out there.." we watch as he pulls out a duffel bag from the car. "Someone can create an army of people...like the Avengers."

He takes a moment and grabs something else and tosses it in the bag before continuing.

"I ended the Winter soldier program once before. I have no intention to leave my work unfinished. To do this we'll have to scale a ladder of lowlifes."

"Well join the party. We've already started," Sam says.

"First stop is a woman named Selby. Midlevel fence I still have a line on. From there, we climb."

We just looked at each other and followed his lead.

He didn't tell us where exactly we were going but once we got to an airport I assumed it would be far from here.

"So all this time you've been rich?" Sam asks.

"I'm a Baron, Sam. My family was royalty until your friends destroyed my country."

It ticked me off the way he would talk about my family but..he has every right to be upset.

As we get closer to a plane we see a man waiting and then Zemo starts speaking in another language.

He then kisses the man on both cheeks which I take as them greeting each other and Sam, Bucky and I just glance at each other.

"Please," Zemo says motioning us to follow him.

Sam says something under his breath I can't hear and I follow behind them as we board the nice plane.

We took off instantly and it was a nice plane. I sat down next to Bucky and across from Zemo and just looked out trying to relax as we all stayed quiet.

After a bit, the same man from outside comes in and offers us a drink. I decline because I'm trying to stay as level-headed right now as possible.

Zemo looks at Sam and Bucky and just says something to the man in another language making him laugh. Then he looks at me and says something else. I look at them both confused and the man just smiles at me and walks away.

I look back at Sam who seems on edge and Bucky who's jaw is locked. He looks like he wants to kill Zemo already.

"You don't know what it's like to be locked in a cell," Zemo says moving on. "Oh..that's right you do," he says making me want to punch him.

I sit up taking a breath trying to stay calm as he looks at me but doesn't say anything.

"Why don't you tell us about where we're going?" Sam asks.

"Yeah, where the hell are we headed?" I say as he reads something. He looks up to me but continues on some book he's reading.

"I'm sorry...I was just fascinated by this, I don't know what to call it," he says before putting the book down to reveal a small notebook in his hands. "Who is Jane?" He says and I watch in confusion until Buck lunges at him and puts his hand around his throat.

Shit.

"You touch that again, I'll kill you," he says in a low threatening voice.

Zemo doesn't even look nervous or scared. He just looks taken aback. Then Bucky lets go of his throat and goes to sit down now glaring at him.
