7 months agoI knocked on the door and I stood waiting on the front porch.
The door swung open and I watched a neutral-faced Tony break into annoyance at my sight as he's holding little Morgan.
"Why must you always be here?"
I walk up and open the door completely, stepping in as if I've been invited in already.
I grab Morgan out of his arms smiling at her.
"Because Morgan wants me here, right?"
She has her fingers in her mouth looking embarrassed a bit as she nods her head.
"Traitor," her dad whispers making her giggle before he walks off into the living room.
"Who is it?!" I hear Pepper shout from the kitchen.
"Who do you think?!" He responds back.
A moment later Pepper comes walking out of the kitchen with a knowing look.
"Hello, Jane."
"Hi," I say now sitting down across from Tony on the couch with Morgan on my lap now. Even though there's a long section of space on the couch remaining for her.
"Why are you here?" He asks again bitterly.
"It's Halloween," I say smiling like a fool.
He just throws his hands up as if to say 'so'.
"Well since you're probably one of the lamest dads ever who won't let their kid go trick or treating..."
"Hey you know I can't have her out there like that, regardless of my feelings towards all that candy and sugar crap."
Pep smacks him on the shoulder pointing towards Morgan.
"Sorry," he says making me chuckle.
"Well whatever, I told Morgan I'd be here to make it a fun day," I say smiling at her and poking her, making her giggle.
"You know she wouldn't have known about this day if it wasn't for you. I don't even talk about Christmas."
"You don't?" Pep asks.
"No-I mean does it matter? When the day comes she'll get presents and that's all that'll really matter."
Pep just sighs in frustration.
"Well, my point exactly. I'm going to make her day fun so when she's older she can at least say her aunt J made Halloween fun," I say making a face at him.
I got up and sat Morgan down on the couch.
"I'll be back."

The look on Tony's face when I walked in with a bunch of things was priceless.
I had gotten Morgan a little witch costume and so did I so we could match. I brought a bag of candy, not too much for Tony's sake. I brought a pretty cool movie to watch (ghostbusters) and some ingredients to make snickerdoodle cookies because they are delicious.
I will forever save the moment when her face lit up in the back of my head.
"Oh god," he says as I dump everything on the coffee table.
"Come on my fellow witch, let's get ready," I say grabbing her little hand and heading to her room.
I turn my head as I'm walking away and stick my tongue out at Tony playfully.

The dresses I brought I had actually made myself. I'm glad the one thing my aunt taught me before she passed was still very much fresh in my brain when I was making these. I thought of just buying some but the costumes at stores are just too colorful and bright for a witch.
