Bucky's POV

Heading back to Jane felt like a reward for making amends to a lot of people. I don't know what it really does but I do think I gave some of them closure.

At least I hope.

~

I arrived at her place and it was locked but I remembered a painful little fact and looked under her mat. I shook my head and used the key. I thought of taking and keeping it inside but then I wondered why she would lock it if she knew I'd be back.

Best to leave it where it was.

"Jane?!"

I call out and I don't hear anything.

No shower running or toilet flushing to indicate that she's in the restroom.

The place is empty.

I walk over to the coffee table in hopes of finding a note or something letting me know where she is.

There was nothing. I tried not to worry since she left the door locked so she obviously left herself. She must've known I would remember where she leaves her key so she didn't leave it open.

It's pretty late now though.

It's been almost three hours since I left.

I tried my best to think of where she could be. She never told me she had anything to do when we came.

I start to grow worried and look for something. Anything to indicate where she went.

Damn. I wish I had her new number.

I could text her and be fine with it.

I feel like I'm overreacting but I don't care.

I went through the kitchen drawers and the fridge. Both had random papers and magnets.

Nothing.

Looked around the coffee tables mail and little papers.

Nothing.

I went to her room and looked on her nightstand. On her big dresser with her mirror and found nothing.

I noticed yet again how she doesn't have any pictures of anyone up. Not even here in her bedroom.

Not one.

It feels like I'm in Zemos place.

He had absolutely nothing either.

I looked into her closet. Surprised to find little clothing. It was like she had clothes for about a week only.

I push them aside and found two shoe boxes that looked like they were filled with stacked papers.

I told myself not to snoop but I couldn't help feel curious.

I grabbed them both and opened one.

It was pictures.

Pictures of Tony and her. With Morgan too. With Pepper. Some pictures of her not looking at the camera and Tony at the bottom corner smiling.
She's building something and looks laser focused on it.
