"You should really come though."

"I don't know."

I grab my shoes and put them on getting ready to leave now since I was officially cleared.

Sam came this morning after stopping by last night to see if I was alright after Bucky left.

He told me he's leaving today and he's been trying to convince me to come visit his family.

I didn't want to intrude on his family but he kept persisting.

It doesn't sound too bad though. After everything, I think I may need some good in my life. Spending some normal quality time with Sam and his family who I've yet to meet wouldn't be so bad.

I sigh looking at him as he playfully raises his eyebrows.

"Fine," I say laughing.

"Cool, get your things we're leaving in the plane."

"Plane?"

"My plane," he says walking out.

Oh so much for Zemo's fancy jet.

"We're going to stop somewhere first."

"Where?"

"To see someone I have to talk to."

I didn't question further. I figured I'd find out when we got there.

~~

It was a long ride and at first, we didn't talk much. I didn't tell him what happened with Bucky. I just told him that he left like he told him he would too. I think he can guess by my mood that it didn't go too well though.

I couldn't help but talk to someone about it. It was eating me up. I needed to know more.

"Hey. When you were blipped away. Did you know who else..did?" I ask not looking at him but I could feel his stare on me.

"He told you?"

I sigh looking at my hands.

"I just—I don't know if it changes anything. It was still two years. Two years that he left me and lied about it."

Lied about his death but I think we both get it.

Sam simply stood quiet for a minute.

"You know what's the first thing Bucky asked me when I saw him again?"

I look up at him hesitant to ask.

"What?"

"Where's Jane?"

I felt my chest tighten.

"He was with us when we were fighting Thanos and his minions," he says with annoyance. "He told me if he made it he was going to find you and make things right apparently but...you know. Things happened."

He was going to tell me?

"Look I know you're mad but have you really listened to why he did it? Why he went over there?"

I didn't respond because the truth was that I haven't. Anytime he's tried to explain I cut him off and close myself off.

"I'm just scared," I tell him honestly.

"About?"

I look up sniffling with tears in my eyes.

"What if I give him a chance and he leaves me again? What if he lies and does something crazy again. It'll be my fault only then. All my fault because I gave him another chance."
