They all appeared in the throne room Mikayla was familiar with thanks to her quick tour with Envy. There was something so dominating about the room when she first saw it, but now that there were shadow demons in the corners it looked more frightening.
"Get out!" Pride bellowed and Mikayla watched as the demons scattered like roaches. She knew he could tell she was afraid and gave his hand a squeeze for doing his part to calm her. "I love you," she whispered to him before pecking his lips. Pride wrapped an arm around her and held her close.
"Well, isn't this just precious." The voice did something to Mikayla. It was severe and commanding, but held a softness to it. Mikayla looked at the salt and pepper haired man walking into the space and gasped.
He was gorgeous. She knew who he was immediately. She also knew why he was referred to as the most beautiful angel. Mikayla could see the features he bestowed on her lovers and thanked him mentally. He was finer than fine and she was thankful for his good genetics.
"Why thank you, honey. I like to think I'm somewhat of a stunner myself." Mikayla's eyes widened and she felt like a complete idiot. "Everyone in my family can read minds and it's my favorite gift handed down by the one who shall not be named."
Mikayla wasn't sure if it was shock or nerves but she let the giggle inside of her escape. Lucifer smiled before taking a seat on the throne. "Come here, honey." Mikayla sobered up and looked at the devil with awe. There was something so alluring, yet dangerous about him. "She's fine where she is father." Pride said in a strict tone.
The smirk on the devil's face let Mikayla know that Pride was really close to being in danger. The look was likened to the Black Mama stare when she knew you were lying and was ready to whoop your ass.
"It's fine, babe. I'll go." Mikayla took small steps until she found herself looking up to the devil himself. "Smart girl. It's very sweet of you to try and save him from me." He smiled down at her. "Come closer."
Mikayla looked back at her mates and could see they were all a mixture of anger and anxiousness. She took steps closer before she felt his hand on her chin. He was looking her over, but not in a lecherous way. It was more so curiosity than anything else.
"My other daughter-in-law said I had to be on my best behavior or else and you don't want to be on the receiving end of Kali or Ayla's or else. So, I'll behave." He said with a smirk that spoke volumes. He continued to peer into her soul and it was beyond unnerving. He spoke up after many moments.
"You're a good match, Mikayla." She let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. "I can't test you like I did Harlow since you're a lowly human, but there's something about you that I like."
Mikayla didn't know what to do with the backhanded compliment. "I see a darkness in you, but I also see a light which is annoying. You straddle the line and I'm sure my boys are just the men to push you over the edge." He let her face go with a genuine smile. "Welcome to the family!"
Mikayla looked back at her skeptical mates. Harlow had spoken about their father-in-law in detail and she wasn't expecting for him to be so accommodating so fast. He truly was afraid of Harlow. Mikayla gave her father-in-law a soft smile. "T-thank you."
He pulled her in for a hug after standing. "Call me Dad! I've always wanted daughters." He smiled. "You have daughters." Pride offered up. "I don't claim them and neither should you. They didn't come from me anyway. I created them like the little experiments they are, but you lot were sired from me." Lucifer retorted back with a proud smile.
"Gross," Greed coughed out before giving his father a sarcastic smile. "Why are we here father?" Gluttony asked annoyed. "It seems your cousins are at it again," Lucifer piped up before waving his hand.
