i do art + i had a spanish exam recently that i finished early so i had a lotta free time to mindlessly draw the funky little children themselves !!//

Encanto AU!!

obviously this AU won't follow the plot of Encanto word for word, considering the movie itself is considering a love letter to Columbia and so much of it is based around Columbia as a whole, while the MPHFPC cast is a collection of british people basically ( i feel like i worded it bad but basically though MPHFPC and Encanto have similar plots [ordinary kid surrounded by people that are anything but] they tell vastly different stories and im in no way trying to undermine the importance of Encanto!!)

the entire concept is just a role reversal pretty much!! the characters from MPHFPC w/ similar arcs and color schemes to Encanto characters while keeping their peculiarities 
kinda if Cairnholm was like the valley the Madrigals settled in?? if that makes sense?? so the kids and miss peregrine are like the protectors are their little island?? idk if that's worded well but whatever
obviously its not entirely the same roles and dynamics either lol

encanto and mphfpc r similar anyways?? so if someones done this before sorry
a house of magical kids under a woman named alma w/ a strong family dynamic aka the best trope (?) ever

Mirabel Madrigal = Jacob Portman
sometimes you've just gotta be a total sucker for that one out of place normal kid who somehow ended up around magic and how they just accept their fate with no questions
Jacob and Mirabel definitely have similar arcs without the AU aspect— found family and discovering their own worth over the course of their stories, basically. Plus, y'know, main characters.... it's kinda decided already....

Isabella Madrigal/ Pepa Madrigal = Emma Bloom
i've mentioned my hc about emmas emotions being directly tied to her peculiarity in the past and thats resurfacing here!! 
Also i think Emma would look good in pink lolol
Emma and Pepa both have the emotion = magic thing going on, and i feel like Emma had the "perfect older sister" mindset for a long time, considering its canon that she had a younger sister ( Julia, i think her name was) and she likely acted that way towards her housemates lol

Camilo Madrigal = Enoch O'Connor
he has middle child vibes. thats it thats the majority of it

Julieta Madrigal/ Luisa Madrigal = Bronwyn Bruntley
mom friend AND super strong friend?? its all wynnie what can i say
Both the motherly aspect of Julieta and Luisa's willingness to be helpful play into why i see Bronwyn as either of them, since wyn is constantly shown to have a strong moral compass and she's so protective over the younger ones
also. much like Emma i think she'd look good in blue/general cool tones

Dolores Madrigal = Fiona Fraunfeld
quiet girls my beloved
i think Fiona would also make sense for Isabella since both of them have stuff to do w/ plants but i settled on Dolores since both share the silent cousin vibe lol
theres a second reason too, which comes next-

Mariano Guzman = Hugh Apiston

idk a lot of Mariano's mannerisms just reminded me of Hugh?? maybe it was the getting whacked by a flower multiple times thing, they just have the same vibes
also i wanted him and fiona to be together in this au too cuz i will die before i separate them ( glaring at ransom riggs rn)

Bruno Madrigal = Horace Somnusson
it's the prophet istg
Bruno and Horace both have the same jittery nature + superstitious mannerisms ( Brunos knock on wood [ though i think its cultural as well? idk for sure don't take my word alone lol], Horace's general cowardice)
horace would also look good in green just saying

Félix Madrigal = Olive Abroholos Elephanta
who doesnt love the oversupportive bestie figure??
Félix and Olive r both pretty optimistic and supportive characters throughout both medias so i think they'd switch over pretty easily
ik its not a big explanation but honestly i didnt know what to do with Olive?? like she's so bubbly and sweet and she doesn't really fit any specific Encanto character lol

Agustín Madrigal = Millard Nullings

Antonio Madrigal = Claire Densmore
lovable younger sibling characters <3
this kinda plays into the younger sister/older brother relationship she has with Enoch, and i also just think her sweet nature pairs with Antonios pretty well

Alma Madrigal = Alma LeFay Peregrine
matriarch figures basically
both alma madrigal and alma peregrine are extremely protective of their families, blood or not, and are pretty much charged with the protection of said families, so... yeah 

i might make proper designs at one point or another but yeha!! thats the basic overview of this messy au rn!! its neat!!
