JULIE:
I entered Sam's room and suddenly, my eyes met with what I instantly assumed to be the parking lot girl. The first thing I noticed about her was her prodigious wavy hair: standing out from absolutely everything in the room, she wore it a suiting dirty blond and kept it the perfect balance between messy and tidy. As I scanned her, I couldn't help but vow at the outfit: a tight green corset matched with a pair of jeans. And a leather jacket I knew didn't belong to Sam was laid on the bed. She was- I mean- Dude!
I caught up to the fact that Sam had no idea I'd witnessed their little scene, and mumbled a forcedly confused: "Hey?".
"Oh!" The girl politely stood up from her comfortable take on the bed, and handed her hand out to me. "Nice to meet you. I'm Emma."
My eyes wandered for Sam's. "She's my girlfriend," she explained.
"Oh," I said, trying my best to keep the bullet shot directly to my chest from making too much of a sound.
"Hi," I let out in between attempts to catch air.
"I was actually hoping to be friends. Sam has told me great things about you." She tried to meet with Sam's gaze, but it was set on me, awaiting a reaction. The screaming, shouting, and running around inside my brain made it slightly hard to respond. I dived deep in my thoughts and, quickly, organized the feelings alongside my sense. Finally decided that I could not hold anything against Emma. After all, what the hell did she have to do with my ever-lasting love for her girl?
"Oh, like, a 'keep your friends close, but your enemies closer' kinda way?" I joked.
"Definitely. Just don't tell Sam I said that."
"Don't worry, I'm not jealous," I lied. "I'm sure that we'll get along. As long as you don't have anything against One Direction..."
"What you think I'm a straight guy or something?" We both chuckled.
"Okay, I like you," I genuinely stated. "Just don't hurt her, because I have experience burying dead bodies." I wrapped the necessary threat with a sarcastic smirk.
"Wasn't planning on it." Her bright smile lingered towards Sam, whose eyes were now set on her. It was a genuinely adorable small thing.
"I didn't know she was into girls..." I found a way to point out the obvious without coming off rude: "But she sure has good taste." Emma smirked. Even though I hated this situation, it was an understatement. The girl was a fucking Goddess."Okay," Sam jumped in with a breaking tone. "Just promise you won't cheat on me," she pleaded to Emma.
"Can't make any promises," she replied with a playful grin. Sam pushed her shoulder, like she used to do with me when we were younger.
"Bitch," Emma let out as she turned around to face her. "You didn't just-"
"But I did," Sam replied, challenging.
"I will fuck you up," Emma threatened.I was surprised to see how easily she spread around Emma. She usually took an insane amount of time to be able to show the real Sam. The one that, up until apparently now, she didn't even know existed. I have been trying to portray the real Sam forever. This crazy, amazing, intelligent woman; who was outrageously strong. The one only I had met.
One of my favorite things in the world was seeing her grow. And there she was, completely open about herself with someone who, coming from the small bit of information I had, she recently met. Heat ran up to my cheeks.
"I'd love to see you try," she replied and with that phrase, Emma jumped on her and Sam put up a good fight. From one moment to the other, Emma was leaning on Sam's shoulder and I didn't really understand shit, because- how the hell did Sam lift her? But my only response was laughter. The next thing I know, Emma's feet are placed on the floor and they're kissing. Really flamboyant kissing. Kissing that'd awake this weird gut feeling. And I felt helpless. After all, what could I do?
