Ariano's POV

Niccolo had apologized a thousand times and tried to make amends with me but I never opened my mouth once after my parents died.

Eventually he found out that it was his fault and he felt awful about it. He then promised me that when he has kids he would name them after my parents out of respect. I still didn't say anything.

My feet dragged across the floor and Amaya walked next to me, slowing her pace.

"Hey Ariano...I know you don't talk now, but if you ever just need a shoulder to cry on, I'm here ok? You don't have to say anything. Just know I'm here. Anything you need....." She tapped my shoulder.

Amaya was also trying to help me but I think a part of me is still shocked from the moment I saw my mom die.

Marcus and Nico haven't even given me a chance to fall into toxic habits to cope. They have been by my side supporting me and I appreciate that.

My feet stopped moving and I looked down at her. She fiddled nervously under my gaze and I leaned my head to the side wondering where the sudden nervousness came from.

I leaned against the wall in the hallway and stared at her.

"Stop it, you're making me nervous" She mumbled.

My hand reached for her neck pulling her towards me as my head leaned down to her ear.

"Me simply looking at you has you nervous?" I whispered and her body tensed before I let her go.

"You talked... you. I thought you were like mute now" I raised an eyebrow as she spoke her thoughts.

"I talk when I want. I'm not mute...obviously" I mumbled and walked away as she followed after me in curiosity asking questions.

I didn't feel like talking anymore, I'm just horny now and she's annoying me.

I haven't spoken a word to Marcus or Nico and I'm sure that they also think I'm mute. I usually just motion to answer a question or make a noise that they surprisingly understand accurately.

I walked up the stairs and turned down the hall to my room. She wasn't allowed up here and her feet stopped moving before she reached the last step.

On second thoughts, her voice is nice to listen to as background noise. I pulled her arm and led her to my room. She closed the door behind us and sat on the couch as I laid in my bed.

"You know I have a theory that the multiverse is real and in a different universe we are just book characters and each of us have our own books....or not. I don't think I would have my own book" She went on and I sat up staring as she rambled her thoughts carelessly.

"I'm totally a side character. The main character must be so stressed, unless she's like a y/n. Then her life should be really fun." She tapped her lip with her finger as she thought more on it.
