Marcus' POV
My birthday had been great and so was Ariano's own, but I may have accidentally crashed his motorbike into the pool. Don't ask me how it happened. I don't know.
Nico stood beside me as our backs pressed into the wall. It was snowing and the condensation of our breaths were seen in every exhale.
We were on another mission of which Ariano refused to go on because he wanted 'alone time' with Amaya. Our goal was to retrieve information from the server Elias had in this facility.
I opened the metal door quietly and Nico followed my steps as we stayed in the shadows of the hallway.
The hallway's lights were either flickering or broken and the red carpet beneath my feet was torn and snagged all over.
Nico signaled to me that he was splitting up so we covered more ground and I nodded my head as he went down a different hall.
I stopped beside an open door where men were talking quietly. I heard about three of them.
Using the small mirror from my pocket I checked to see that I was right. There were only three. I attached the silencer to my gun before I shot them all, the carpet making the thud of their bodies quieter.
I checked their phones and found nothing. I checked the desk, still nothing. I rather not check every room in this facility for the server.
I walked out of the room, my finger staying put on the trigger, the cool metal pressing into my palm.
"Nothing on this side. No guards no anything" Nico's voice reached my ear from the com.
"Come back. I think I found the server. Keep straight down the hall, eighth left, first right." I instructed and I hid behind the large crates until Nico also came. We were outnumbered here. There were about forty of them just casually walking around and talking, all of them armed.
"Marcus lets go before they find out we're here" He whispered. We both knew it wouldn't end well if we were caught.
If I get close enough I can insert the device" He glared at me before nodding his head and pulling out his gun to provide cover for me in case I met the unfortunate fate of being seen.
I snuck up behind the large boxes and reached my arm through the crack inserting the flash drive before crawling back to our hiding place.
"It's done, let's go" We both got up and headed towards the exit. We exited the building, snow falling into our hair and on our clothes. It was coming down much heavier than before.
We kept going along the wall of the building until we reached the end. I looked around carefully seeing that it was clear. We both ran out heading for the wall when I heard a sound causing me to take a second glance at my surroundings.
"MARCUS GET DOWN" Nico's body fell into mine as I heard three loud bangs. I saw the man reloading his gun and took the chance to pull Nico behind the wall, my heart racing.
