Niccolo's POV

I closed the room door behind me and with a sigh took off my shirt tossing it in the corner of the room. My shoes came off next, along with my socks and I walked into the bathroom leaning against the counter.

My hands pressed into the cold white, gold and grey marble before my eyes trailed to the orange pill bottle in the open drawer next to me. I stared at it for a few seconds before I picked it up.

It was ecstasy that I had accidentally taken from one of my drug imports.

I should have put it back but I kept it because of the urge I had to use it. Marcus. Asked me about it last week. He picked it up and asked if I had been using it.

I told him no, because I wasn't. He then asked why I'd had it and when I ignored his question he emptied the bottle on the counter and counted them to see if any was missing. Now I was right back to square one and I felt bad for even thinking about this.

I opened the bottle and poured its contents into the toilet and flushed it just as my room door opened. I threw the empty bottle into the trash before walking out into my room and put on a fake smile. Too bad Marcus always noticed when I wasn't okay.

"How did you like your birthday so far?" I sat on my bed as he laid next to me.

"Amazing, but you know what would make it better?" His hand wrapped around my arm and pulled me to lay down beside him.

"What?"

"If you told me what's going on with you. You have been off for the past two weeks." I sighed as I looked away from him.

"Nothing. Now get ready because I have another birthday surprise for you." I tried to get up and change the topic but he pulled me back down.

"What happened to you?"

"I think I have to blindfold you first though. I don't want to spoil the surprise for you." I tapped my lip with my finger.

"Niccolo" He warned with his change of tone.

"Yes?"

"Cut the bullshit. If you don't tell me you're going to ruin my birthday" I frowned .

"Are you pressuring me to open up to you?"

"Yes"

"How lovely" I grumbled.

"Talk." I closed my eyes and didn't budge until he pulled on my hair harshly.

"Ow. What the hell?"

"Talk, Nico."

A soft sigh passed my lips. "I'm just stressed and worried. Elias has been after me and I need to come up with a way to take him down without exciting a war in Carolina and Georgia."

"And what else?" Of course he would know there was something.

"I'm having urges." He sat up at my words and I knew that he knew what I meant.
