Niccolo's POV

I was nervous and I knew Ariano only asked so me and Marcus had to spend time together.

Infact, it was out of our way to come here so I knew.

"Calm down." Ariano snapped at me which only made me more nervous.

"I'm trying" I mumbled as we pulled into the driveway.

Marcus had his hands in his pockets as he stepped out.

I got out of the car and Ariano literally forced me back into the wheelchair before he rolled me into Marcus' home.

I smelt the lingering scent of takeout food.

"How have you been?" Ariano made small talk while I stayed quiet.

"I've been pretty good."

"How is that girl who shot me? Sage was it?" Ariano hates Sage.

Marcus laughed softly. "She's fine."

"How lovely."

"Maybe if you got to know her."

"No thanks."

"She's actually a bit like you."

"How so?"

"Playful, brutally honest at times, easy to talk to. A perfect friend in other words."

"What about a partner if she's so perfect?" Marcus paused at that.

"That's like asking why don't I date you."

"I'm flattered you think of me as a perfect friend." Ariano grinned and stopped rolling after we reached the kitchen.

I watched as Marcus grabbed two glasses and rested them in the sink, one of them being tinted with the mark of lipstick.

"So no girlfriend?" Ariano prodded and Marcus turned around with a sigh.

"It's obvious you want forced proximity between Nico and I. Now, you are just looking for a green light. So what is it that you are trying to find out?" My fingers rubbed my temple in second hand embarrassment while they both talked about me as if I wasn't even there.

"I just want to know if you're single or not." Ariano shrugged with a smirk.

"I am. Anywhere else you would like to stick your nose?" He looked over to me for a split second.

"Do you still like Nico?" Ariano's elbows rested on the counter while his chin rested in his palms.

"You know...being straightforward is one of your best and worst traits....." His voice trailed off. "How about you go explore the bottom floor where the arcade is and I'll have a talk with Nico." He offered.

Ariano did not hesitate to abandon me leaving me alone with nothing but Marcus, dopamine and testosterone.

He pulled out a chair at the island and lended me a hand to help me up to the chair.
