Unwanted Attractions

Chapter 19

Rosa wakes feeling dizzy hearing faint voices outside the door of the room she has found herself in. She looks around wondering how she got there then she feels her head to find it bandaged. But before she could question it The door opens.
"Rosa, you're awake!" Bilbo shout happily rushing to her bedside
"Bilbo, what happened? Where are we?" She asked hosiery sitting up
"You hit your head when that orc threw you. You've been out for three days. Why did try to fight, Rosa you... you almost died?"
She smiles clearing her throat "I'm sorry brother, I didn't mean to worry you. Bu-But you didn't answer where we are?"
"We're in the skinchangers named Beorn house." They hear a voice at the door answer
Rosa looks to see Fili, She smiles to herself.
"Bilbo, I'd like to talk to Rosa alone."
"But-"
"It's alright brother, I'll be fine."
He nods gets up and leaves them alone. The two sat in somewhat uncomfortable silence until Fili spoke up "Glad to see your alright."
"Could you tell Thorin, I'm sorry for the delay. I didn't mean to slow you all down."
"There's no need to apologize, Rosa. You were hurt, badly. You needed and still, need some rest. Thorin understands that"
"But Durin's day is near. You should have just left me here and continued on. You don't need me, I'm not important."
Fili looks sadly at her and places his fingers under Rosa's chin making her face him. "Don't talk like that."
Rosa realizes how close he is, as he leans in but stops as they hear Kili shouts on the other side of the door "Fili, Thorin would like to speak with you!"
Fili sighed, pulling away "Rest Rosa, we'll talk more later and I'll have someone bring you some food."
She nodded watching him leave. She wonders why the Dwarves didn't just leave and continued the journey without her. She starts to lie back down as Bofur comes in with a small tray of food. she thanks him and he bows leaving her alone again. She eats little bits of the food, then places the tray next to her and settles down falling fast to sleep.

In the morning Rosa wakes up to see Bilbo sleep not that far from her on Beron's bed. This sigh makes Rosa chuckles "Always, going to be overprotective and worrisome are we brother?" She smiles to herself, gets off the bed as quietly as possible, and tiptoes to the door.
"Where are you going, Rosa?" Bilbo yawns
"How do you always know when I'm up and awake."
"Because I'm your brother." Bilbo remakes sitting up "And I felt the bed move when you got up."
Rosa rolled her eyes chuckling "I was just going to see if the others were awake, care to join."
He nods and jumps off the bed and they walked in till they find where the others gather. Rosa sees a very tall man taller than the average human even taller than Gandalf standing around with them.
"I do hope the bed was comfortable enough. I don't use it often," Beorn said gently.
"It was fine, thank you for letting me use it." she bows
"That's Good, You might as well get something to eat," Beorn said fetching a bowl.
"We've been very worried Las," Bofur Whispered as she sits down "Your brother and even Fili have been driving the others crazy."
Rosa looks over to Bilbo, who seems to be talking with Ori, then she looks at Fili whos talking with Kili. She wondered what they were talking about and why Fili seems to care. 'Does he like me too or for some other reason?' Beorn sets a large cup of milk and a bowl of porridge pulling her out of her thought.
"Thank you for sheltering us, but we really must be going. Now that Rosa is awake." Thorin said
Beorn nodded at Thorin's statement "I'll lend you some ponies, and Gandalf a horse."
They finished their breakfast, thanked Beorn for his help, and headed on their trail again. They traveled across the vast fields on Beorn's land. They cautiously approached the forest.
