"monday results"

It was another week and lunch time arrived. It was Monday so chatter was loud. The captains' table was filled with the members of the friend group just chatting around. Willa sat next to George who was explaining to her about his project for physics.

She scrunched her face as she tried to make sense into AP Physics. A laugh erupted from beside her and she scowled. "Please don't-" "What's up with your face Baker? Who shat on your salad?" Clay cut Niki off. The others groaned as Willa turned to him giving him all her undevided attention.

This was one of the reasons why Clay loved annoying the cheer captain. He loved the attention she gave him. It was enthralling and exciting. It brought sparks in his life. And despite being a menace in his life, Willa Baker will always light up his mood.

"Maybe it's just your annoying presence that got me looking like this." She said. Clay smirked and leaned closer making her lean back but because George was beside her she couldn't move that far. "Oh so I can make you look that pretty..." he said with a smirk.

Willa rolled her eyes and looked away as a blush appeared on her cheeks, "Whatever." She mumbled. This made Clay laugh and shake his head. Lunch was semi normal, the chatter and banter had become normal for their group.

That was until Nick's phone chimed. "I still can't believe Dave let you out with your ringing phone earlier." Carver grumbled as he stabbed his pasta. Nick smirked, "What can I say the eldest Baker have a soft spot for me."

Will scrunched his face and shook his head, "Never ever say that again." He grumbled. "Wha- oh. OH!" Nick yelled in disgust. The others laughed as Willa scoffed.

She pushed the chicken peas from her salad and as if it was the most natural thing ever, Clay scooped them out of her plate and into his. Niki watched and chuckled, "You know I will never get used to that." She said as she pointed to the action.

"What?" Willa asked as Clay placed some chicken pieces onto her plate. Jimmy scoffed, "That you two can kill each other if you wanted to and yet you still share food." He said.

Clay and Willa looked at their plates and shrugged. Willa munched on the chicken while Clay ate the chicken peas. "Oh believe me the first time they did that was weird as hell." George muttered.

Clay huffed, "We just do it." "Please change your words." Will said as he narrowed his eyes at him. Clay laughed and Willa pushed him, "Do not push me while I'm eating. You know the truce." he grumbled.

All throughout the years the two had learned to give boundaries in their feud; no pushing and fighting while eating, no personal matters, no physical fights that can lead to bone breaking and bruises, no sexism and so on. It was what kept them from killing each other. Even though he did just call her a bitch, it was slip of the mouth. She was a bit hurt but there were bigger things to think about than Clay Thompson accidentally calling her a bitch.

Nick huffed, "Anyway!" he yelled as the others looked at him. "There's a party tonight." He said. They all looked at him in disbelief, "It's a school night stupid." Jack said. Karl laughed as Nick pouted.

"But it's inter school..." he trailed. The others shared looks. It was tradition for the friends to attend parties together. And because it was inter party they would do everything to see if they were talking shit about them so they all agreed as the others grumbled.

"We're so gonna regret it tomorrow." Charlie muttered which made Nick laugh, "Oh come on it's the first party of senior year." He said. This somewhat lifted up their moods. But then the door pushed open and someone yelled.

"Results!" a freshman yelled and the captains all turned to see the chaos. They smirked and continued to eat. A few freshmen walked to them timidly to thank them which the others greeted happily.

Willa was just talking to a few of the new spotters when a body rammed into her. Arms wrapped around her and pulling her close to Clay.

She looked at the boy in shock but he was laughing at the girl who was hugging them. George laughed as Will snapped a picture. "Thank you! Thank you! Omygosh it means so much!" the voice of Clara Thompson was heard from behind her.

Willa hummed and smiled at her after she pulled away, "And flyer as well! That's like your job! Thank you so much!" Clara said. This made Willa chuckle and nod at her. She looked at Niki and the co-captain smirked grabbing a white ribbon from her bag, "This should be given at first practice but here." She said.

The girl accepted the ribbon and hugged her. Willa looked at Clay who grinned at her. He mouthed a thank you and she nodded. As Willa said her good byes Tommy, Toby and Ray Acker (a boy they all call Ranboo) skipped to the table.

Jimmy stood up and patted Ranboo's back and welcomed him to the team while Tommy hugged his cousin. George's drink spilled as the boy jumped and hugged him. Toby thanked Jack who nodded at him and giving him a hug.

Will and Willa shared a look and stood up to hug their brothers. Results day was always something the captains loved to experience. It was wholesome and it brought the teams together. A perfect way to start of the upcoming sports season.
