"jealousy"
That night the captains were invited to a party and they didn't really want to chicken out what with the games coming and going. They had to show up so it didn't seem they were intimidated.
Willa was walking in with Maddy and Niki. She wore a long sleeved red turtle neck with some tight red plaid skirt. Her rings gracefully placed on her fingers and her necklaces layered on her neck.
Her eyes raked the room, there were already a whole lot of people. "Willa Baker!" a familiar voice called out. There walking to them was Alexander Burris, the basketball captain of Willowville High.
"The queen arrived." he joked. She rolled her eyes, "I can never say no to one of Willowville's parties." She said. He laughed and handed her a red solo cup as he greeted Maddy and Niki. "Well if you need me I'll be around. I think a few of your friends are here already. Have a great night." He said before walking away.
"He's nice." Maddy said as Niki and her looped their arms around their captain's. "You're here! Now watch me win in!" Nick yelled as he pulled the three girls to the beer pong table where he was teamed with Jimmy and Luke as they went against Will, Jack and George.
"You gotta support me Wils." Will said as he placed the cups down. "Why would she do that?" Luke asked as he playfully winked at Willa. She chuckled and rolled her eyes at him, "Because I'm her twin." Will said as Jack nodded, "And I'm her cousin." George said.
Jimmy scoffed, "Yes well she loves us don't you Wils?" he said as he giggled, clearly tipsy already. She was about to answer when Nick cut her off, "Don't let Clay hear that boys." He teased as he tossed some balls to Will.
She furrowed her eyebrows but shook her head. She didn't bother to answer but rather turned around to look at the party. Alexander was a good friend of hers and she knew how good his parties were.
Her eyes roamed across the crowd who were dancing around or just drinking. She could see some puffs of smoke from some teens smoking but she could careless really as long as they weren't her girls.
She was about to turn back around to the slowest game of beer pong when she saw it. There by one of the many windows of the Burris household stood Clay Thompson with Brooklyn Stammer. She couldn't be mistaken by it, she knew Brooklyn from the amount of competitions they did against each other.
It was always her and against Brooklyn when it came to captains even if there wasn't any individual awards for Cheer. The girls never really voiced out the competition, they just kind of knew it. It was an unspoken thing which prompted the girls to have the least words exchanged possible.
But there Brooklyn was, talking and chuckling to whatever stupid joke Clay Thompson said. She felt her heart drop a little, her eyebrows furrowing as her shoulders sagged.
Willa gulped, she knew how her body reacted despite her brain just wanting to turn around and make fun of her twin for losing beer pong because he always does, she didn't. She continued to stare at them as a frown was clearly plastered on her face.
She didn't realize that she let out a sigh until Maddy tapped her shoulder, she slowly turned and the blonde sent her a small smile. "You okay?" she asked. Willa looked back to Clay and Brooklyn who were mutually laughing at this point. She gulped and nodded looking back at her friend, "Yeah. I'm gonna go and find Alexander-" "Why?" Nick asked clearly have heard the conversation.
Willa finally turned but her mind could just replay the scene behind her. She closed her eyes and let out a breath, "I need another drink." She said. "You haven't finished that one." George said concerned.
She looked down at her cup and saw it half ways full. She shrugged and chugged it. Niki furrowed her eyebrows in confusion, "Now I don't have a drink and I need one." She said.
She started to walk away but Will caught her arm. She turned, "You good?" he asked. She chuckled and shook her head glancing briefly at Clay again that by now caught her look. He tilted his head and sent her a smile.
She sighed and pulled her arm gently, "Yeah. I just need a drink." She mumbled and walked through the bodies of teens that were around them.
Luke hummed and nudged Nick, "I think that's the reason." He said as he motioned to Clay who continued to talk to Brooklyn. Nick frowned making Will to turn around. He furrowed his eyebrows, "I thought Clay liked my sister?" he asked.
George huffed, "He does." "Then what the hell is that?" Niki asked clearly upset at what was happening. "First of all why did Willa react that way?" Jack pointed out the obvious. The friends all shared a look and Jimmy hummed and nodded, "I don't think this bet will be good." He said.
Maddy sighed and nodded, agreeing with her boyfriend. "Only one way to find out-" "Nick!" Niki and Luke scolded him. Nick shrugged, "You don't know maybe this is the reason that they'll actually get together." He said as he shot the ping pong ball landing straight to one of Will's cups.
