"confrontation"
Willa laid in her bed that Saturday morning. She woke up late for the first time in the past Saturdays. She would always wake up early to get ready for the day to go to Clay's but today she just didn't bother. She didn't want to face him at all.
She didn't understand that looming and gloomy feeling she was feeling. She didn't want to talk to her girls because they might just say something she was scared to hear. She didn't want to talk to her parents because that would be embarrassing. She didn't want to talk to her little brothers because well, what did they know. She didn't want to talk to her older brother because he would just ask questions she didn't know the answers to and she didn't want to talk to her twin because she knew that Will knew the answer.
So that Saturday, she laid on her bed after she ate lunch with her family. She pursed her lips as she twirled the covers of her bed as her mind raced.
Questions crammed their way to her overthinking mind. Did he get up to study? Or was he at George's? Or was he playing with them online? Was he at the field training? Or did he went to Brookly-
She cut her thoughts off as she groaned and grabbed her pillow and smashed it to her face. She screamed into it and pulled it away. She hugged it to her chest, "Stupid. Idiot." She muttered as she cuddled her pillow.
Willa sighed, she theorized on what she might be feeling but she was chickening out every time. She didn't want to admit it. She never wanted to admit it. Not now, not ever-
Suddenly someone knocked on her door. She muttered a come in, she knew it was either her mother, father, Dave or Tubbo, because Wil never seemed to learn the art of knocking. So she kept laying on her back staring at her plain white ceiling. As the door opened and shuffling was heard the door closed right after.
She didn't hear any words, she heard slow footsteps and felt the dip on her bed. She didn't look at the person, thinking it was her brothers or father but she was wrong. "Baker..." she jumped up and away from the person and stood on the other side of the bed.
Willa stared at Clay in shock. Her eyes wide and her heart hammering in her chest. Clay frowned at her reaction, "You okay?" he asked. She gulped and nodded before looking away from him. She moved to her desk and started cleaning the littered papers on it.
Clay sighed and stood up, placing the bag that held some soup that his mother cooked for her. The moment Claire asked whether Willa was going to be tutoring Clay that day, he was stupid enough to say she was sick so she forced him to go and visit her.
He didn't want to push Willa and was not planning to go to her house but deep down he wanted to. He wouldn't be there if he didn't wanted to, but there he was.
"I- I just wanted to drop off some soup my mom made for you. She heard you weren't feeling well when you didn't came by to study." He said. Willa hummed, "Is that all?" she asked turning her head. Clay stared at her and shook his head.
"No." he whispered. "Well what is it? I have some things to do-" "You don't have to be jealous." He cut her off. Willa stopped moving and turned slowly to him as he continued to talk. "About Brooklyn. Me and her, we had a favor going so we started talking again but that's it." he said.
They looked at each other in silence. Willa pursed her lips, "You think I was jealous?" she asked. Clay sighed and ran his fingers through his dirty blonde hair. "What else am I supposed to think? You're ignoring me-" "I am not-" "Yes you are." he cut her off again.
Willa gulped as Clay walked around the bed, "You're telling me that you're not jealous?" she hummed and nodded. He raised an eyebrow at her, "So you're telling me that you're not ignoring me? That you haven't been running away from me because I spent time with Brooklyn at the party or after the game?" he asked.
She stayed quiet just looking at him. He sighed and walked closer to her, "Tell me Baker. Tell me you aren't jealous about Brooklyn because it seems like you are-" "I'm not jealous of her." she cut him off.
Clay let out a laugh, "Oh believe me I think everyone in our town knows how you aren't jealous of her." he said. She clenched her jaw and he tilted his head, "But you are jealous because she was talking to me-" she scoffed making him stop.
Willa glared at him, "I am not jealous of her because she was talking to you, I was jealous-" she cut herself of as Clay raised an eyebrow at her. She gulped, "I was jealous because you were talking to another cheer captain. You're the football captain of our school, my school. Not hers." She said as she felt her cheeks burn.
Clay merely stared at her and walked closer, inches apart, he lowered his head as she tried to move back but her desk and chair stopped her from doing so. "So I'm your football captain?" he asked lowly. She rolled her eyes but nodded. He smirked, "But you said you aren't my anything. Not my cheerleader, nothing. Why do you get to have me when I can't have you?" he whispered.
She gulped and pushed him off, walking to the other side of the room but he grabbed her arm, pulling her to him. She was flushed when she hit his chest with a huff. Looking up to him, he tilted his head and stared straight into her eyes, "Don't worry, I only have one cheerleader captain space in my life and unfortunately for you, it's you shaped." He whispered.
Her cheeks reddened making him smirk, "And for the record..." he trailed as he leaned to her ear, creating shivers down her back, "I have been your football captain for years, not Brooklyn's. No need to be jealous baby."
