"I feel like I'm being suffocated..." I exclaimed now stuffed in a white suit with flower designs in silver. "Isn't this over the top?" I turned to Casey who wore a more simple puffy white dress with light blue roses details along it. "Nonsense the Moreno's always throw an over the top ball! Now let's get going!" She gripped my arm but I froze "hold it!"
She looked up confused "where did this whole ball thing even come from anyway?" She frowned "we've been talking about it for a while but since you two broke up in a way you refused to know about it! Becauze it involves Morenoand you would always blank on it" She replied bluntly. I stuck out my tounge "oh hush!" She chuckled "whats so funny?" She shook her head "oh nothing~"
Instead she pulled me down the hall to where my dad helped Calum with his shoes. They both wore matching light blue suits with silver designs on it. "Hey ready?" He nodded "well I'm heading home me and my grandparents will meet you there, remember August you promised me you're going.... well bye!" She raced out the door, as my dad simpl scratched at his head and turned to me.
"I'm just gonna ignore that so you two to the car!" Calum heald my hand as we walked to the car. And good news for Calum was dad was less afraid of Calum being hurt which mean his carseat was removed. But he still sucked at buckling in himself. "Thank you Augie!" He smiled happily as I made my way to the front seat "no problem champ"

As we got closer to the venue it was more extravagant then her actual house. "Wow!" Calum was the most excited he was bouncing up and down in his seat. My dad pulled up to the front as a guy approached our car.
"Welcome, our valets will park your car. Please enjoy your evening." We excited out of the car as my dad handed the guy the key her awkwardly as we clearly aren't used to any of this. After that my dad turned to me and shrugged his shoulders. "They do this at the hotel also." He started walking up the stairs as me and Calum looked at each other weirdly.
If I thought the outside was extravagant the inside was even more. It looked like a winter wonderland in here. Fancy tables with light blue cloths and white designs. A grand chandelier in the middle that shined bright and Christmas tress decorated with some expensive looking spheres. And of course the extravagant champagne tower.
My eyes turned to a stair case beautifully decorated with christmas lights and bows to complete it. It had an elegant but festive appeal to it. Well the whole place. I looked around and spotted Casey. "Hey!" She cheered softly.
"We just saw each other" I laughed lightly. She shrugged her shoulders "so I can't be excited to see me my besti!" She playfully nudged my shoulder as I smiled awkwardly.
She lead me to a small buffet table to gather food, the whole time I kept looking around the room anxiously, she's not here. Casey noticed and quietly spoke "none of them are here right now. They always do some dramatic entrance at 8 sharp" She looked down at her phone. "You have half an hour till then....."
I released a breath I didn't realize I was holding in, I felt in a way relieved by this. Just 30 minutes until I had to see her, but it's not like we will have to speak to each other she's going to be occupied with people that matter, not me at all.... Right?
For those 30 minutes I hung out with Calum and Casey in which we mostly just ate the free food and drinks alcohol free of course.... while we were doing so the lights dimmed and shined on the staircase balcony... This feels like those scenes from a chessy princess or prince movie....
Yo has there ever been a princess falling in love with a commoner movie? Wait not important! We stared at the balcony of the stairs as a lady in a cocktail white dress with gold accents and her hair falling in a low curly ponytail. Another man stood next to her his graying black hair pulled back and his beard trimmed, like the women he wore a white suit with gold accents a matching set.
They stood alone as the man spoke loudly "greetings dear friends and associates to the Christmas ball, happy holidays everyone we hope you enjoy your time, free food and drinks for all!" "Not to much drinks~" people clapped and laughed lightly at the pair. They walked down the stairs and were replaced by both Miles and Oliver, who both wore blue suits they were a matching set themselves with the silver roses. "We both hope you enjoy your night here! Drink as much as you want it's the holidays! Unless you have work tomorrow then good luck with that!" Miles spoke first and earned some chuckles "oh! And kids can hang in the kids section which is now open!" Oliver cheered as he spoke. "O-of course it's formal safe so don't freak out parents!" Miles quickly cut in, most of the parents let out a sigh of relief and the kids were too distracted with finding this kid section.
Soon they both walked away down the stairs to join their parents. And followed after their leave I heard heels click as Melanie took their place alone. She hates being alone....
I felt my breath hitch as I stared up at her. Her hair was pulled back from the side with a white flower it's texture still wavy and loose but I also noticed it was shorter. It now reaching a bit past her shoulders then to past her waist like before. She stood straight and her outfit was a long white dress that flowed around her with matching puffed sleeves the front was shaped to show her chest in a heart form of sorts and cut on the side to show her thigh. But what caught my attention was the silver flower designs that lead up from the bottom of her dress. I looked down at my suit, holy shit we were a matching set.

I looked back up at Melanie who was looking through the crowd. She took a deep breath before speaking "evening everyone... I'm sure you all are having an amazing time so far which will continue into the night! But before that I have two announcements to make" People started to whisper a bit, I simply turned to her family who were looking at her proudly.
"One is that for those who have the heart to do so we are having a charity event soon after new years and right now we have donation corner for those in need!" She pointed to a corner as people clapped. Later she turned back to the crowd, I felt my breath hitch as she looked straight at me.
"The next is an apology... to a special someone who I selfishly pulled into my life. He was the new kid and was a sassy fellow when he wanted but he was also kind to his family. He was there when I needed him even when I messed up..." She started walking down the stairs now holding the microphone.
"Augie she's talking about you!" Calum whispered excitedly. As I looked around nervously. "No way.... is she?" I turned to Casey who simply with a grin "who knows..." I swallowed nervously. "I didn't think it was serious at first. I mean hey were just some dumb teenagers but I'm sure about this. And that at one point I was serious but I was to scared to show it...." I looked around and spotted people moving apart, oh god...
She appeared through the crowd making her way towards me and stood right in front of me with a small smile and a single white rose. "I don't know for how long this may last or if you're even willing to forgive me but I do know that for right now I want to be aprat of your life.... Because I can for a hundred percent say that at this very moment as I stand before you that I love you August Anderson...."
