I swallowed softly stating down at Melanie who held out a rose to me.
"I was afraid of love but I know that with you I can learn to no longer be afraid of it. So August this is the most dramatic thing I have ever done..." "for fuckin sure as hell cousin!" I heard Miles shout, Melanie simply rolled her eye's at this whils some people around us laughedsoftly. "Thank you Miles!" "No problem! Now ask him! Its getting good!" She groaned softly as I chuckled at this, clearly amused by the two.
"Anyway! August will you give me a second chance and actually officially go out with me as my boyfriend?" She looked up at me with a shy smile and offered me the rose more. I could feel everyone's on us but I simply looked at her. I thought about everything that has happened and knew that at this moment my mind was made up.
"Melanie.... of course I forgive you and hell yes I'll go out with you..." I reached out and took the flower with one hand and pulled her in closer with the other. People started to cheer as they watched and some were sobbing??
"I was scared you'd say no..." She whispered to me. "And I was scared to both see you and never see you..." She laughed lightly and for the few times we've in a way been together I kissed her first this time as her boyfriend not her special little friend she could get rid of when ever but someone who's stuck with her for a while.
It was eventful day so far when we pulled away we forgot people were looking at us. "Um... enjoy the party? Happy holidays everyone!" She cheered and handed the microphone to Miles who approached us.
"Congrats you two!" He patted me on the back as Calum excitedly jumped around in his seat. "Does this mean you two are good now?" He asked excitedly "better then good..." Melanie said as she kissed my cheek lightly. "Good!" He jumped of his seat "Oliver!" He screamed out loud and sprinted away to find him.
"Um... he's going the wrong way.." Miles mumbled softly. Casey simply nudged him, "then let's go reunite them, you know give the two love birds some privacy..." She dragged him away leaving me and Melanie alone. Who looked after them amused and when they were out of sight she turned to me.
"Follow me I have one last surprise for you." She tugged at my arm leading me up the stairs. "Melanie if your leading me to a room to fuck..." She laughed "no..No... No at least not right now~" She winked playfully and pulled me through two doors to a balcony.

I looked around impressed. "You do this?" She chuckles "nope!! I found it like this... it's actually the place my biological dad meet my new dad though it looked way different before.." I raised a brow intrigued.
"So this place special than?" She nodded and sat on the couch "very..." I sat down next to her. She smiled up at me and huddled up to me. "I really am sorry...." She mumbled lightly.
"It's fine.... I mean it hurt before. But I can come to understand, plus you definitely made it up" She chuckled a bit. "I hardly have.. I was thinking a date, and a proper one with no interruption?" I smiled sheepishly.
"Sounds great! Though right now let's enjoy this..." I wrapped my arms around her holding her close to me. She smiled and buried herself more in me. "You know this is the weirdest thing ever... we're in formal wear just cuddled up in the couch like nothing!" She exclaimed with a small chuckle. I simply smiled a bit.
"In our defense privacy!" She laughed softly and shook her head. "My moms gonna kill me for ditching but it's worth it..." She patted her dress down which reminded me of something. "Casey was in on it wasn't she?" Melanie raised a brow and hummed a bit "Well yes and no... it was Miles, Raine and the twins originally but we needed Casey since she's your best friend." I shrugged "true me and the others don't really get along all that well since we never really talked plus...." I motioned to her.
She tilted her head to the side "we weren't talking and their always near me..." as she tilted her head her hair flowed down which brought me to another thought. "Their your close friends but... your hair?" I ran my hands through it gently "It's shorter..." I mumbled softly as Melanie looked forward. "It symbolizes change to me... after the whole thing with Tessa and especially Lilly.... it sure as hell left us messed up of course Tessa more then me. She never got help and it lead her down a dark path..... I talked to her...." She looked down and grabbed one of the jars with lights.
"I said my peace and I hope she gets the help she needs... and i made my peace Lilly's death isn't my fault.... other than that it's in the past I'm starting a new chapter and moving forward, that's why I cut it.." She set the jar back down and looked up at me as I simply smiled down at her. "I'm proud my brave girl..." I mumbled softly. She looked at me a bit surprised but returned my smile "of course my artist..." I laughed "You've never seen me do any art" She grinned "not yet...." I rolled my eyes playfully and brought her closer to me.
"Yeah yeah..." She grinned and leaned up to me as we shared a kiss out on the balcony on Christmas eve, blissfully unaware of the world around us as for now we only had each other right now.
