"So rumor is Melanie won't be allowed out for sometime..." Casey moved as we grabbed lunch together at the mall. "Oh... grounded for Christmas then?" She shook her head "no... the Moreno's always have this winter ball on Christmas eve! So it's a tradition to go~ and you're going with me!" She clapped her hands together staring at me.
"No I'm not!" I exclaimed as I sipped my drink. "Yes you are! Your dad works for the company and it's mandatory for staff and there family to attend unless flying out or family reasons! And we both know you have neither" She whined... actually whined...
I shook my head again "Dad can just take Calum while I stay back and watch Christmas movies!" She rolled her eye's "more like watch movies of a prince falling in love with a girl during Christmas!" I gasped she was so right!
"There good movies!" She rolled her eye's "it won't work your coming and having fun! The whole family has too come! It's the few times snakes and foxes get along~" I gave her a deadpan look. "Casey I am neither a fox nor a snake! I don't care!" She pleaded again "please! Your my best friend! It will be fun you won't regret it!" I looked at her still unimpressed as she tried that thing with her face..... not crying but puppy eyes...? She's trying... it's awkward now... she sucks at it like when donkey tried but you can't beat puss at the look...
"Fine! If you stop doing that thing with your face!" She cheered "yes! But I must pick out your outfit! Shopping bitch let's go!" She gripped my arm and dragged me out of the cafe "Casey my food!" She didn't listen and I got taken to the mall for a formal outfit. Very fun..... I bought nachos at least..
Melanie's P.O.V
"And where have you been dear cousin...?" I asked Miles as he walked in cautiously through the door as I simply sat in a chair twirling my hair through my fingers. He rolled his eyes playfully waved a weirdly shaped bag on his arm around. "Suit shopping!"
"Hmmm.... let me see..." He lifted up the bag showing a dark blue suit with white flowers more like roses in the design and some gold accents to it "passable due to the blue which is the theme of the ball" He chuckled and coverd the suit again, "white and blue with some gold and silver is the theme for the holidays doll~"
"But of course~" he headed up the stairs "by the way mother picked out your dress and your brother is outside... also Noah is outside withe
Harper and Raine.... bye!" He raced up the stairs "Miles you tell me now!" I raced to the door and flung it open.
"Melanie! Lord I have been so worried!" Raine raced up to me and tackled me into a hug. "I've been wanting to visit but I was still grounded until now!" She squeezed me harder causing me to squeak out still in pain. "Raine I love you darling but my ribs!" She let me go quickly.
I took a deep breath and gave her a small smile "it's fine I've only been here for a couple of days. Plus I'm also grounded for sneaking out and not immediatelygoing to the hospital....." She chuckled "Well at least you're looking better Melanie..." Harper commented beside her twin with an akward look on her face.
I nodded my head while Raine leand closer to me "So we buddy buddy with the foxes now or...?" I chuckled "more like a truce my darling" She glanced at them and back at me "I see..." She leaned back and pulled out a box "here a little something from us snakes" She placed the box in my hands with a wink and walked back down the drive way "I'll see you the day of the ball consigue a tu hombre!!" She skipped away cheering as I simply rolled my eyes with a chuckle.
Noah leaned over to me excitedly "girl I know were barley getting along and shit, and I'm here to cheek on you with Harps! But! Who's that hot guy over there~" he pointed excitedly to Ryder, I simply fake gaged in my mouth. "That's Ryder my family's secretary.... he's 21, single and sexually confused since he was 17 after fucking the school quarterback and the head cheerleader... not at the same time... that was me...."
Noah nodded then looked at me weirdly. "What?" I asked as he looked around the place "you had a threesome with the qb and head cheerleader! When?" I raised a brow "last year on the old quarterbacks grad night, I thought everyone knew..?" His mouth was wide open as he shook his head. Until Harper appeared and closed it for him. "Brother you are slow! Even I knew that! Listen to the gossip around school! Anyway how are you feeling Melanie?" Harper turned back to me.
"Better! My bruises are healing and I can walk around with out feeling immense pain!" She chuckled "glad to hear it. Now we also have to leave but we'll also see you at the Christmas ball~ rest up!" She grabbed her brother starting to drag him off as he was still shocked "the quarterback and the head cheerleader!" "Yes Noah! Close you fucking mouth a fly will fly in there if you don't!" And with that they were gone leaving me with Ryder.
"All preparations have been made for your grand confession!" He shook his hands in a jazz motion despite his serious face as he walked closer to me. "Thank you! Things have to be perfect cause he's to special for me to lose...." He patted my head "and they will be... though who was that one guy with the white hair?" I groaned "he's Noah! And he's single and gay let's move on I'm not setting you two up! Especially since it technically isn't legal yet!" He gave me a weird look.
"O-okay.... anyway we should go over some final preparations before the big day.... that makes it sound like we're preparing your wedding! Let's go!" I chuckled lightly and following after him..... it's almost time... and I'm mostly ready! Just hoping things go well, please....
