08. I'm a Hidden Slave, and so is Everyone

I'll try climbing up
every ladder you place,

weather those crumbling rocks
on the way,

don't you worry about me,
maybe all I do, is only for you.

Just promise me one thing,
promise me one thing, will you?

Promise me you won't
raise the steps,

promise me they won't
break away

I hope you don't have
any spares left,

I don't wanna climb
another way.

Will you be there
if they break away?

Or will you leave me behind
for another prey?

I'm trying, and I'll keep doing it,
climbing every cliff you lay eyes at

I know I'll fall a million times,
but don't you worry about that.

Just promise me one thing, will you?

Promise me that
when I reach there,

you'll be the one I find

I don't wanna get
ruined again

by those illusionary puppets
you place at the peak everyday.

I'll try my best to keep
that smile of yours

and push all your
dissatisfaction away.

Just promise me
one thing, will you?

Promise me you'll be there
if I fall?

All the blows and injuries,
the steep corners and edges

the disappointment
veiled with smiles,

exhaustion hidden
by the shadows;

I'm human too, after all.
