09. The Most Important Person

He woke up by the shore side,
lips instantly praying,

his eyes searching
for broken ships and spirits,

and he smiled upon finding none.

He turned around
and his eyes widened,

his heart crashed when he saw
a little girl amidst the sand,

her pigtails frayed,
her scraped hands,

holding onto a torn teddy bear.

She led him to her ship,
broken and in tatters

and she looked at him
in the eye,

like she had known him forever.

He took parts from
his own broken ship,

mending hers to sturdiness,
he stitched her bear,

to one strong companion.

She said she wanted
to be mended as well,

so he broke his heart in pieces
to join her little innocent one.

The little girl, she went away
waving at him as she sailed her way.

He looked at her with pride,
a warrior she was

sparing alone with the waves
he had lost someday to.

He knew he was important,
for people who fell and ended up like him
he picked them up on their feet

if he hadn't been there,
there would've been piles
of broken spirits on the shore.

but thankfully, there was
only one now,
of him and him alone.

With a final glance for broken ships,
his lips forming into prayers,
he stretched and went off to sleep again.

Personal Notes :-
Another good one, oh my goodness.

Did anyone notice that she looked at him like she knew him forever?

Did anyone connect the dots that people who reached their destination might've told others about the ship repairer so it could have been that the girl might have gone out looking for him??
😭✋

Also, he chose to be a ship repairer, guys, oh my god??
Like, he could've left too, I'm pretty sure he would've reached his destination if he wanted because, he just sounds so strong.

Not me gushing over my own described character though :')

Also, the girl's little teddy bear, the things he faced to stay by her side, they broke him in the end.

Anyways, thank you for listening.
Take care, of yourself, and others too.

Love, Hacs.
