04. I Promise To Move On

91 10 10

You say he lives across your house,
but I'd rather believe that he lives in your heart.

You never cried over him, I saw
but you've always had expectations.

I held you when you sighed over him
listened; when you had too much to hold in.

I believe, yes, that's what friends do,
but tell me, am I not worthy of your attention?

I think I've already braced myself,
for the day when you make a move,

when you finally confess.
I know what happens,

I know all you can do is to look at me
in sympathy as you decline our plans.

So, I'm trying, alright?
To be how I was before I met you.

And now all I can pray is,
for him to accept you.

Because, maybe, I've gone too far,
to the point from where I can't return.

If he rejects you,
I don't know if I'll be able to bear,

I don't know if I could possibly
confront your new found feelings for me,

when you finally realise, that it was
me for you, all along.

Personal Notes:-
This poem, I feel, is the next best one after 'The Beautiful'.

Now, many may have different opinions because bla bla bla, but this poem is just so pretty.

It is a cliché, yes, about how he loves her and she loves someone else and (again) bla bla bla, but I really like how I wrote it. It's a cliché, yet, it doesn't feel like one.

:')

Anyways, thank you for listening.
Take care,

Love, Hacs.
