CHAPTER FOURTEEN:
❝︎You Didn't See It❞︎

IT TOOK EVERYTHING IN HIM NOT TO RUN TOWARDS THE MAN, GRAB HOLD OF HIM, AND RIP HIS THROAT OUT WITH HIS TEETH. His anger was getting the best of him, and once Alaska called his name he snapped his head towards her, his eyes glowing yellow and his fangs protruding from his mouth. Alaska looked at him with wide eyes, having yet to see him like this. Weirdly enough, she wasn't scared. She was more so surprised than anything.

"Liam," She gently spoke his name. "Liam, look at me." He did. She wished she could hold him, calm him down, but all she could do was talk and hope he didn't rip her step father's head off. "You need to call the others, okay? You need to call the others, and you need to tell them. Liam, we know where my body could possibly be. That's all that matters." She stared at Liam, watching as his teeth turned normal as did his eyes. He stared back at her, clenching his jaw before nodding in agreement and then pulling out his phone.

Liam was quick to dial Scott's number, waiting there for a minute as the phone rang before Scott answered. Alaska watched as Liam explained everything that she had said to Scott before there was silence and Liam just stood there listening to Scott talk on the other line, occasionally glancing at Alaska, impatiently licking his lips as he listened to Scott's instructions. Finally he nodded before hanging up, forcing his phone back into pants pocket so that he didn't shatter it in his hand. Alaska crossed her arms over her chest, waiting for him to tell her what Scott said.

"Stiles is going to go to his dad and Lydia is going to go to Scott's mom. The rest of us are going to go find your body." Those were the words that made her heart skip a beat. She could feel the life draining from her, and she knew that they had to act fast. Liam turned away from Alaska, his eyes finding the man that had harmed her and glaring. The wolf in him was begging for him to attack, but he forced himself to hold back. Instead, he looked towards Alaska, nodding his head before the two went running towards the place in which they were supposed to meet Malia and Scott.

"You're sure?" Was the first thing that Scott asked when Alaska and Liam joined his and Malia's side.

"She's positive." Liam nodded his head. He paused, nodding towards Alaska and Malia. "Malia, you and Alaska start looking. We're running out of time." Malia didn't hesitate to run off, but Alaska did, knowing the werecoyote wouldn't be able to see her. Nonetheless she ran off towards the direction Malia had went, causing for Liam to turn back towards Scott, a distressed look covering the beta's face.

Scott noticed this, his eyebrows furrowed and a frown fell on his face. He could tell that something was bothering him. Something besides the Alaska situation. Scott glanced towards the direction that Malia and supposedly Alaska had went before turning back towards Liam, straightening his posture slightly as he allowed his worry to show. "Liam, is everything alright?" He knew the answer to that question, but he also had a feeling that Liam knew exactly what he meant. He could see it in the beta's eyes and it was then that he noticed the amount of pain that lingered there.

"You didn't see it." Liam softly spoke, shaking his head. "You didn't see the look on her face when she saw him. Scott, it was the worst thing I've seen in my entire life. All I wanted to do was hug her, but I couldn't because that bastard did this to her. I don't know the extent. She didn't want to tell me. But whatever he did to her. . . Scott it was bad. If she hadn't been there, I might've killed the man. He was sitting right there, a drink in his hand like he hadn't just did something to his step-daughter. Who does that?"

Scott sighed. "There are some sick people out there, Liam. People that don't care what they do to everyone around them. It those people that we have to stop. And we will. We know who he is, Stiles is talking to his dad right now and explaining everything to him. We'll get the bastard and send him to jail for the rest of his life. But for right now our priority is Alaska. Let's get Alaska back into her body first, and then we'll figure out all of the rest, alright?" Liam looked at him for a moment before bowing his head slightly and nodding his head. Scott gave his shoulder a reassuring squeeze before darting off into the woods with Liam not too far behind.

They all searched the woods. Trying to find any scent of Alaska's that they possibly could, and for a moment there they didn't think that they were going to find her. And then Liam caught it. It had been faint at first, but when he got closer it grew stronger and stronger to the point that it made him want to gag. The smell of blood filled the air and he was quick to call Malia and Scott before shooting towards it. The three ran through the woods, running as fast as they possibly could before they got so close to the scent it was too strong not to miss it. And when they found the source, it made all of them stop dead in their tracks.

Their on the forest floor was the body of Alaska Waldrop. The missing girl. The ghost that had been following Liam around. She was right there. She was real. Blood covered her limp body, the grass and leaves surrounding her were stained with so much blood they didn't even look the right color. It was then that Liam noticed that the ghost of Alaska was no where to be found. And only one scary thought entered his mind. They were too late. Alaska Waldrop was dead.
