"I do believe this is your stop," Joni stops in front of my dorm.
"Thank you, really. I was in a bad mood before, but I'm not now. So I think your mission to repay me for falling on top of me is a success." I smile.
"Then that's all that matters, and how do we feel about Gyros?"
"They are amazing, my eyes have been opened."
"Good," she giggles.
I giggle back.
I flinch when I hear Vega clear her throat behind me.
"Vega," Joni smiles at her.
"Joni," Vega says with a bite.
"See ya firefly," Joni mocks salutes before turning on heel, shoving her hands in her pockets, and walking off.
"Oh wait, your jacket!" I quickly take it off.
"Keep it, I'll get it later," she waves me off.
I frown after her.
I slowly turn to face Vega who has a face that tells me she is very peeved.
"Before you get mad, I can explain." I quickly say.
She crosses her arms and raises an eyebrow at me.
"She fell on top of me."
"Not making me feel better."
"Wait, that came out wrong. Like, she fell from the sky, on me, on my head. Then I was like super mad at her, because like, rude, anyway she wanted to make it up to me and offered to pay for my lunch." I shrug.
"You went to lunch with her?" she says in annoyance.
"Yes, but like, we talked about you the whole time. Honest. Wait, okay, that also came out bad. We didn't like, bad talk you, I just wanted to know how she knew you. And she told me."
"What did she say," she grinds her teeth.
"I get the feeling you're mad at me."
She huffs and turns and heads back inside.
"Vega, I'm sorry!" I quickly follow her.
"I told you to stay away from her." She marches upstairs.
"She's nice."
"She's not nice!" she whirls around to face me.
I eye her in confusion.
"Forget it," she shakes her head and runs up to her room.
"Wait, what's wrong! Explain!" I run after her.
She shuts the door in my face but I just teleport into the room and cross my arms.
"Ugh!" she plops on her bed.
"Why are you mad? She's nice, she said you two used to be best friends, before..."
"Before what?"
"She told me about your mom."
"Unbelievable!" she shoots off her bed.
"Vega."
"She had no right! That's my business, not hers! She always does this, always inserts herself into my business. Acts like she's holy saint mary, an angel on your side, but in reality, she's just trying to exploit the situation for her own gain. Stay away from her!"
"Okay, sorry," I mutter.
"Damn it!" she goes into the bathroom and slams the door.
I sit in silence for a moment.
