When I open my eyes I'm back outside, in the snow. Laying there, cold as ice. It's dark out.
"Emery!? Emery this isn't funny, where are you!?" I hear Vega call.
"H—help." My voice is scratchy and barely audible.
Suddenly I feel like a giant dark hammer falls on me and another blast of darkness hits me. I curl in on myself in pain and whimper.
"Emery!?"
"Wait, I think I felt her energy!" I hear Nerissa call.
"Where?"
I hear them getting closer.
Another wave of pain and darkness and I try to cry out but only a hoarse screech comes out.
The little light blob appears again and starts glowing brighter then softer, then brighter again. Like a little light beckoning for help.
"There!" I hear Nerissa call.
It disappears when they get close.
"Emery!" Vega runs to my side and falls to her knees in the snow to help me up.
"Somethings wrong." Nerissa kneels next to her.
Another wave of darkness has my eyes rolling back into my head in pain.
"We need to get her to the medical wing, now!" Vega says.
"I can take her," Nerissa says.
As soon as she makes a shadow portal my body feels like lots of little bugs are chewing on my skin. I cry out in pain but no sound comes out, only hot tears leak out of my eyes.
"I think you're hurting her," Vega says.
"This is the fastest way." Nerissa brushes her off before we sink into darkness.
"My dear goodness," Kenshin the Caster physician says once we appear.
"She needs help!" Vega calls.
"I'll call the others," Nerissa says.
"She's ice cold." Kenshin walks over to me. "Blue lips, and fingers, she's suffering from hypothermia. How long has she been in the snow?"
"I don't know, we've been looking for her all day," Vega says.
"Go get the heating blanket, hurry!" he says.
Vega quickly runs off to get it.
Several more blood casters come in the room to help heal me.
As soon as they use their energy on me the pain increases tenfold. I have to blast them back with my own energy to protect myself. They all cry out in pain and jump back. I curl in on myself and shake and tremble.
"Emery, you have to let us help you," Kenshin says.
"Jesus Christ kid," Cyrene runs in.
"Oh thank the cosmos," Asherah right behind her.
"Somethings wrong with her," Nerissa comes back in.
"She won't let us operate," Kenshin says.
"Emery, what's wrong?" Cyrene comes closer to me.
As soon as she's close, her light energy soothes me. It makes it less painful. My energy leeches onto her and starts draining her.
"Whoa," Cyrene gets dizzy and has to steady herself.
"She's energy leeching," Nerissa says.
"She's hurt, bad, Emery stop, you're draining me." Cyrene grunts in pain.
