Outside of Beatrice's bedchamber the sky was painted in warm shades of pink, orange and purple. The light of morning peaking in through the windows and giving the room a soft glow, small birds singing the day in.  Trixie rubbed her eyes slightly as she slowly woke up, quickly noticing that Katya was already fully awake.

"Good morning." Katya said, her fingers gently combing through Trixie's hair.

"Good morning." The brown-eyed girl replied before cuddling closer to Katya. "Do you want to know something?"

"What?"

"This is undoubtably the best morning of my life so far." Trixie said with a bright smile.

Katya kissed her forehead softly, pulling the girl closer and holding her for a while, treasuring the feeling of having her near. She wished to stay in their little paradise a moment longer, away from all the thoughts and opinions of the outside world. Once she stepped outside that door the mask would have to be put on once more, but for now she could just be loved and cherished for who she was, nothing more, nothing less.

"Do you want to know something?" Katya asked.

"What?" Trixie questioned with a giggle, already knowing what the likely answer was.

"This is the best morning of my life so far too. I think I shall love every morning very much as long as you're there beside me."

"I will as well. And every midday, afternoon, evening, and night too." The Midrosen girl said before kissing Katya softly.

Somehow every kiss they shared felt new and yet familiar at the same time. New like an exhilarating adventure, and familiar like a place you have lived your whole life. It was so safe, so caring, and Trixie could hardly bare the moment when they had to pull away.
As Katya noticed that the sky outside was turning a more clear blue color their kiss did come to an end though.
It was a painful reminder that there was a reality waiting outside, and that they could not stay on their serene island for forever. The day was calling them back, the rooster crowing like an alarm bell.

"I should go, the day will soon be upon on us." Katya said, attempting to rise from the bed. However Trixie soon argued, holding onto her, begging her not to leave.

"Stay a while, it is still dark out."

"The sun is rising on the horizon, it is already nearly up." The Resvyan said.

"There is still time, stay my love. Stay a while as who you are." Trixie replied, sadness present in her voice.

"My mask is not so hard to wear now when I know you love me without it. But I must go, if all is revealed, if your father learns, then all will be over."

Trixie knew it was true. Her own country's laws, the laws backed by her father forbade two women to be with each other. If he knew of the Resvyan scheme or knew that Trixie wanted the union even after learning of it, he would be furious.

"You're right..."

"Do not be too upset, it's not as if we will not get to see each other." Katya comforted.

"I know, but once we leave this room we must be proper. I was quite enjoying forgetting all rules of courtship." Trixie said with a slight laugh, her cheeks reddening at her own boldness.

"I will visit your bed again soon enough, have no doubt. Nothing could keep me away from you. You have me completely spellbound."

"I feel the say way with you, I just can't get enough. Leaving your arms feels like I am betraying my heart and soul." The Midrosen girl admitted, feeling more confident after hearing Katya's words.

"I know exactly what you mean. But even if the night is too short, we will soon get another, more beautiful than the last. I love you, my darling." Katya said as she quickly got dressed, not bothering to tie all her laces, instead hiding the open garments under the fabric of her large cape.

"I love you too."

"I must go, but I will see you at breakfast." The Resvyan girl said, leaning in for a last kiss before heading towards the door. "Until then."

"Until then." Trixie replied.

Katya disappeared out the door few moments later, her hood pulled firmly over her head to cover her face as she ran down the hall towards her room. It had been a risky adventure, but not one she would ever come to regret.

For every night spent in Trixie's bed was a gift.

Every kiss a small miracle.
