They snuck out of the castle through the escape tunnel that lead to the forest, long cloaks covering their faces and garments. Katya had sent word to a priest in town through Judy, knowing she was trustworthy. He would meet them by the lavender fields and there they would be wed at sunset.

"Here we are, now we just have to wait." Katya said once they reached the fields that seemed like a sea of purple. "You are completely certain, right?"

"Katya, I have asked you to marry me twice now, both times after I knew your secret, once after I knew the consequences of it being known by the world. If I wanted to run then I would have already done so. If I were to let you go now then I would be denying myself the desire of my body and soul. I want this, I want you." Trixie replied, taking the other woman's hands in hers.

Katya kissed both her lover's hands softly before wrapping the girl up safely in her arms, silently swearing to never let anything happen to her angel. Trixie was like a Goddess of love and patience, her pure heart a gift from above.

"I love you, I always have and always will. For me there is only you, you are the only thing I see, my favorite person, my whole world is you. As long as I have you I know I will have the strength to keep on fighting. We can make it through any hardship as long as we have each other. And someday I know we will be able to love in peace." Katya told her.

Just then the priest came riding through the trees, stopping his horse once he reached the edge of the first lavender field. He tied the horse's reins to a tree and walked towards them.

"Good evening." He greeted as he got closer.

"Oh, good evening." Trixie replied once she heard him, pulling away from her lover's embrace, but taking hold of Katya's hand once more.

"So this is what it's come to Yekaterina? A secret wedding?" The man said with a cheeky smile.

"You know each other?" Trixie asked.

"Yes, he worked in the castle chapel for many years, he started not long after Alexej's passing. And well, he was one of the few people who saw through my disguise, and had the nerve to ask me about it." Katya explained.

"I see."

"And yes, Pyotr, this is what is has come to. Will you wed us?"

"Of course I will. Who am I to stand in the way of love? Surely, if you fight for it this much it must be a blessed union." Pyotr replied.

"Thank you, we know this is a risk for you too, so thank you." Trixie said sincerely.

"It is my pleasure, Your Highness." He said with a slight bow of respect. "Now, are you ready?"

"Yes." Katya said.

"Wait." Trixie said, removing her cloak and laying it down among the purple flowers. "Now I am ready."

"You look ethereal." Katya said as she admired her fiancé.

While Katya herself had chosen a simple blue gown in a lightweight fabric, focusing mostly on her need to be herself instead of her brother, Trixie had come truly prepared. Her dress was white with flowers of gold lace sewn onto it, it's gold sleeves hanging delicately off her shoulders. The neckline was wide, and her breast were pushed up by the corset she wore underneath it. Layers of soft tulle made up the most of the skirt and to Katya's surprise the bodice had no proper boning built into it, seeming instead to be an older style with a higher waistline.

"It was my mother's. I have kept it for many years as a memory, and since the dress I was supposed to wear is not yet finished, I figured this was the best choice."

"It is perfect." Katya replied before turning back towards the priest. "We are ready."

"Wonderful. We are gathered here this evening under the watchful eye of God, among his earthly gifts, to join these women in holy matrimony. We trust in God to bless this union, and grant them many years of joy and happiness. In these times of hardship we also ask for Gods protection, so their blessed love will go unharmed... Do you have vows?"

"Yes." Both girls answered at the same time.

"Well, then Yekaterina, why don't you go first?"

"Alright... Trixie, ever since we were children, you and I have understood each other in ways no else could. I have always loved you, even if I realized that years later then I should have. You are the most beautiful person in this world, inside and out... You have stayed by my side, even when my secrets have tested your love. Even when I have deeply hurt you, you have stayed patient and loving, and I am forever grateful. There is no one I would rather spend my life with."

"Katya. My darling Katya. My beautiful Katya. You are the strongest person I know. You have gone through so much in your young life, but you have stayed strong. You are my best friend, my love, and my dream, and I truly believe that we are destined for each other. The road ahead may be unclear, but I will gladly walk down the roughest path so long as I have you by my side. I will always love you, and I swear before God that my heart and soul will always be bound to you and you alone." Trixie said, tears of joy escaping her eyes.

"Then I ask, do you, Beatrice Elizabeth Agatha Mattel, take Yekaterina to be your lawfully wedded wife?" Pyotr said.

"I do."

"And do you, Yekaterina Petrovna Zamolodchikova, take Beatrice to be your lawfully wedded wife?"

"I do." Katya replied.

"Please exchange rings as you repeat after me; With this ring I thee wed, promising to love and honor you until death do us part." The priest said.

Katya took two rings out of a small pouch which she had tied to the waist of her dress. They were beautiful golden rings with branches engraved onto them in a beautiful pattern, small royal blue sapphires imitating flowers on Katya's and small pink sapphires on Trixie's. Thankfully the rings had stayed in Katya's room and not with the keeper of the Crown Jewels, and she was therefor able to bring them.

"With this ring I thee wed, promising to love and honor you until death do us part." Katya said, sliding the ring onto Trixie's finger.

"With this ring I thee wed, promising to love and honor you until death do us part." Trixie repeated, granting Katya her ring.

"Now I must ask for your signatures, and I must ask for your confirmation that you are signing this marriage document freely." Pyotr said, holding up a document and a quill which he placed upon the holy book he held in his other hand.

"I give you my word that I sign this document freely, vowing my life by my own choice." Trixie said as she signed.

"I too give you my word." Katya said, signing her name on the marriage contract.

"Well then, by the power vested in me by God and his holy church, in the presence of his many wonders and in celebration of his greatest wonder of all, I pronounce you legally wed. You may kiss."

Katya wasted no time, pulling her wife close and kissing her with unmatched passion, acting as if Trixie was the air she needed to breathe. Finally no one could take her love away, no one could stand in their way no matter their opinion. Trixie returned the kiss happily, feeling a heavy weight being lifted from her shoulders now when she could finally call the Resvyan girl her wife.

"I love you." Trixie said once they eventually pulled away.

"I love you too, Trixie."
