P2: Chapter 12

Ryujin's POV

"I'll try to ask Hyunjin."

"Thank you."

I've been contacting our friends for hours asking where Yeji is. She didn't come home last night. I texted and called her several times but i got no response. It was already unattended when i tried again this morning. Even Seulgi and Hyunjin won't answer my calls. Something must have happened. I'm just staring at our convo waiting for a reply when it rang.

Karina calling...

"Yes?"

"Hyunjin said she's at her parents house."

"And?"

"Well he told me she's okay there." that's obviously a lie. I'm losing my patience.

"Ryujin?"

"She won't even reply to my messages. Aaaughh...Do you have their address?" I'm so confused right now. It's just weird that even Seulgi won't respond to me after our talk.

"I don't, I'm sorry..." she said on the line. I bid her goodbye before ending the call. I closed my eyes to concentrate and to cool my head down. I'm so close to throwing my phone out of anger.

Yeji where are you?

--2 days later--

She's still not back. I went to their company after asking Chae about it but they didn't let me in for not having a scheduled meeting. I'm driving back to my house from Hyunjin's place also failing to find him there. I don't know where Seulgi is staying right now as well. Our friends are also worried because Yeji's phone is still unattended. They think her parents confiscated it but we're still not sure about the reason. I immediately fought the thought that it's because of our relationship. Her siblings are very supportive so her parents would be too right?

--Next Day--

I received a message from Seulgi telling me to go to her house. I drove to the address she sent right away out of desperation.

I rang the doorbell many times before i saw someone walking towards the gate. Our eyes met and we're both silent till she smiled at me. She's like an older version of Seulgi.

I shyly smiled back. "Is this where Seulgi lives?" she chuckled upon hearing my question. I know it was kinda dumb because it's evident. It also felt like she's waiting for me to come here with all smiles on her face. She told me to go inside. 

"I'm Yeji's mom." she said with a warm smile on her face.

"I-i am--"

"Ryujin. You're very pretty," I suddenly felt embarrassed. I can't help but to see the three in her especially they got her eyes.

"Mom, dad will be back tonight." i glanced towards the voice revealing Seulgi who's shocked to see me. She walked towards me with her eyes teary,

"I'm sorry, Ryujin." i was a bit confused but i returned her hug. "Ryujin..." i looked at their mom calling me. 

"I know you're seeing my youngest." I gulped suddenly feeling frightened on what she's going to say next. "I'm sorry if she's not able to talk to you for days, something happened between our family and we're still trying to fix it--and it's so hard to see my daughter hurt..."

She couldn't hold her tears back anymore as she leaned on Seulgi. "She's--" Seulgi told her to hush down while caressing her back. She looked at me speaking,

"She won't talk to any of us. She's been in her room the whole time, barely eating, crying...she needs you."

"Why?" i can't help but to feel mad hearing all that. Something really fucked up must have happened for Yeji to act that way. "I-i can't tell you. But please, go to her." i scoffed at her. I'm filled with rage and confusion then her mom held my hand. She gave me a pleading look. She didn't say anything but i managed to calm down a bit. I didn't push knowing about the situation. Yeji's my priority.

They followed me towards the door as i knocked on it. "Yeji? It's me, Ryujin." i said in a gentle tone. We waited for seconds but there was no response. "Hey, I'm here now Yeddeong-ah~"

I knocked again but louder this time before calling her once again. Still nothing.

Seulgi ran down fast to get the key after her mom told her to do so. I felt my heart beating faster and my hands started sweating. I opened the door and went inside right away finding Yeji laying on the floor. Unconscious.

"Yeji? Yeji?" i kept tapping her face lightly to wake her up. Her body was a bit cold and she looks so pale. Seulgi immediately called an ambulance. I'm feeling numb while holding her and hearing the noise around me. I froze when i saw her wrists with cuts and her palm with a pill on it. I almost dropped her seeing the next thing on her bed. A pill bottle with a few pieces left in it scattered on the sheets.

"Where's my daughter?!" their dad shouted while walking towards the hallway together with Hyunjin. He came to his wife who's still crying with an angry look on his face. We're all waiting for the doctor about Yeji's condition. Thank God, we brought her to the hospital on time.

"What happened?" Hyunjin asked Seulgi before seeing me beside her. He looked more worried turning his gaze to their dad. I step back when he glared at me and walked closer. 

"You. What is she doing here?!" he yelled at them while pointing at me. "You dared show up in front of me? Shameless piece of--" their mom slapped him making him stop. He looked more angry than before but she spoke up,

"Enough! Your daughter tried to kill herself! Stop forcing her into our business, please she's hurting hon...please," she begged almost kneeling down in front of him.

"I'm not forcing the marriage but she can't be dating a woman. That's absurd." he eyed me from head to toe. My tears won't stop from falling. I want to fight back but i know it would only make things worse than it already is. I don't want to worry Yeji more the moment she wakes up. She has been too much already.

"Stay away from my daughter." his voice was full of authority. I just blankly stared at him. I feel so weak and empty from all these. I ignored him and turned to Seulgi.

"Please tell me when she wakes up."

I started to walk away ignoring Seulgi's calls while still hearing their father scoff and complain. Sadly we can't do anything about close-minded people. We're just gonna waste our energy trying to explain our side to them. It's not worth it.
