After parking up, Lexie and Bucky started to walk towards the mall entrance. Bucky held out his left hand for Lexie to take which she did so happily. Looking down at his gloved hand she furrowed her brows and came to a halting stop.

"Chip?" Bucky asked looking back at her with a concerned expression on his face.

She wordlessly began to pull the thick leather glove off of his vibranium hand, his free hand moved to grab her wrist to stop her "sweetheart.."

"You don't need to be ashamed of it Buck, it's part of who you are. It's beautiful, just like the rest of you."

He stared at her for a moment before offering a small nod and letting go of her wrist. He watched as she carefully removed one glove, and then the other. She lift his vibranium hand to her lips and lay a soft kiss on to his palm. "This arm.." she spoke as she ran her hand down his bicep "and this hand" she smiled, interlacing his metal fingers with hers "they helped save the world Buck, you and this arm helped save the world. You're a hero Bucky. You're my hero"

They stared at each other briefly before Bucky cleared his throat loudly "Come on you, let's get in there so I can spoil you before my resolve crumbles and I have my way with you in the back seat of the truck"

"Oh well if that's an offer" she winked pulling him back towards the truck

"No it's not you horn dog" he laughed, tugging her back towards the mall.

They started by going in some of the usual clothing stores, Bucky picked up a few new shirts including a navy blue henley, because he remembered the way Lexie had looked at him the one time he wore his tattered old red one.
Suddenly Lexie started pulling him towards a shop he'd not seen before and had no idea what it sold, but she had a big grin on her face and a skip in her step so she was clearly excited.

"Lego?" He asked "what the hell is Lego?"

"Holy shit Bucky, sometimes I forget you're ancient" she laughed pulling him in to the brightly lit store.
"I suppose the best way to describe it is a toy? Like presumably it was created with the intentions of being for kids, but adults - myself included - love it and there's so much they target towards adults now."

"Ok.. but you still haven't told me what it is?"

She dragged him to the back wall of the store where there stood hundreds of tubs, all holding brightly coloured objects of all shapes and sizes. Lexie stuck her hand in to one of them and pulled out a handful of things that looked like small yellow bricks.

"They're like building bricks" she clicked two of them together "see? You buy a kit and it gives you all the pieces and instructions you need to build whats on the box. Or if you're skilled and imaginative enough you buy loose bricks and build whatever you want."

Bucky looked around at shelves upon shelves of boxes "Oh, that's pretty neat" he nodded, impressed but overwhelmed.

"How about we each pick one and we can build them together? I'll show you how it works and it can be something we can do together other than sex and tv" she laughed

"But I like sex and tv" Bucky pouted

"Well so do I. But it would be nice to do something else occasionally, don't you think?" She looked up at him hopefully

"Ok doll, let's do that then"

As they were browsing the hundreds of different Lego sets on offer, Bucky spotted a little boy no older than around 5-6 staring at him with wide eyes, looking between his vibranium hand and his face. Bucky smiled softly at the boy in hopes that he wouldn't scare him, but the boy continued to stare unblinking.
"Chip?" Bucky whispered nudging her to get her attention "this kid won't stop staring at me"
