-----------------------Braden's POV-----------------------------

So Jerry and I had agreed on a plan. Which I was glad to say, he was only a minimal part of.

I woke up early that morning, still tired, but I knew there would be no way of relaxing once my mind got to thinking about Sara. I had only gotten a few hours sleep. That was all I needed. I rubbed my eyes.

I went into the kitchen and tried making myself breakfast. I cracked some eggs and layed out six strips of bacon in a pan.

The thing is, I sort of burnt it all. I turned it on and went over to my computer to start researching maps while I waited for it to cook, and I guess I kind of forgot about it. That is, until I smelled the smoke.

Then my fire alarm went off, which caused the annoying building manager to come up and knock on my door.

"No fire, just burnt some bacon.." I started, as he proceeded to push past me and barge into my apartment.

The alarm was still beeping which added to my annoyance. I grabbed a chair and stood on it, trying to reach the reset button. I clicked it. Ahh, silence.

"And why aren't you at work today?" He questioned, suspiciously.

"I quit.. I think." I answered, hoping he would get the hell out of my apartment so I cloud get on with my day.

He wandered over to my computer.

"And you're looking up maps of Bermuda?" He raised an eyebrow.

Ugh.

"Ya, I'm doing some traveling okay?" I snapped.

He cliched his tongue, "interesting."

"Okay, well there's no fire here, and you've done your little inspection, so.." I hinted.

"Alright Braden, but I'm watching you. I don't want any more "burning" going on in my building." He warned as he headed for the door.

"Will do." I said, shutting the door and locking it.

Thank god.

I went over to my computer and hit print. I didn't bother cooking another breakfast. I didn't need it. I grabbed the papers and folded them up, slipping them into the back pocket of my jeans. I slipped on my leather jacket and threw a few more shirts into my suitcase. It was already mostly packed. I was ready.

I zipped up the suitcase and carried it to the door. I grabbed my keys and went to turn the door handle.

There was a knock on the door.

I opened it and saw Elizabeth standing there.
