"I want to help you," she said, pacing around the kitchen in her black stilettos.

I stepped back into the apartment, closing the door.

"I know that, I'm not mad. I just don't think you can. I mean honestly. No one in the world knows what happened and that's just how it is." I said, sitting down on the couch.

She walked over to the window behind me.

"I just feel like someone's got to be responsible, you know. Someone has to take the blame. People can't just go missing like that, it's screwed up. And I'm pretty sure it falls on me. So here I am." She murmured.

"Elizabeth, I know you want to help but- Look, I don't need you. You've done everything you can." I said, standing up and walking over to her.

"No. I haven't. I won't leave your side until we find her." She whispered.

"Elizabeth, you're crazy. You don't take every case this seriously do you?" I laughed.

She turned around and looked up at me. "I'm not kidding Braden. I swear." She said.

She eyed my jacket and glanced over my shoulder at the suitcase that was at the door.

"Where're you going?" She asked quietly.

"To find her." I said.

I walked over to the door and picked up the suitcase again. "Sorry to be rude, but I really must be going."

"I'm coming with you." She said from behind me.

"Ha. That's great to say but I don't think you know what you're getting into." I said, opening the door and motioning for her to leave. She stepped into the hall and I followed, locking the door behind me.

I took the floded up wad of papers out of my back pocket and ploped it in her hands. She opened it up slowley and filppied through the pages of maps and adresses.

"And that's just the beginning." I said, taking the papers and starting down the hall. We rode the elevator together. Neither of us spoke. The door opened, letting us off on the main floor. We went out the door, side by side.

"Good luck, Braden." She said, turning to walk in the opposite direction.

"Thank you." I muttered under my breath.

I quickly hailed a cab and was off on my adventure. Who knew when I would be back, where I would go, what I would find. As long as I found Sara it would be alright.
