~~~~SARA'S POV~~~~
He came at the perfect time. Just as the officer was opening my car door in the parking lot of the police station a tall, orange figure walked up behind him.
"Althazar!" I shrieked in joy.
Confused, the police man glanced over his shoulder. He was evidently shocked by what he saw.
"Hello, there." Althazar spoke.
But the man could hear none of it. Only the painful screech of Althazar's alien language ripping through his ears.
I was relieved I still had my translator in. Guess I had gotten so used to it being there I'd forgotten to take it out when I got back to earth.
The officer covered his ears in agony as Althazar continued to speak.
"Excuse me, but if you don't mind I'll be taking this human away from you." He said, reaching for my shoulder to help me out of the cop car.
As Althazar moved the officer backed away in fear.
"Thank goodness, you got here just in time." I said.
"You changed you're mind lovely?" Althazar asked with perpetual hope.
"Not exactly..." I trailed off.
"Miss. Get back into the car. Get away from that thing." The officer instructed from a safe distance away.
Althazar turned to look at him.
"I'm afraid she won't be doing that." He spoke, causing the man to grasp at his ears again.
I chuckled.
"He say's he's not going to put up with any of your shit. He's got a death ray that could destroy the whole planet and if you don't shut up he'll use it." I lied.
"That's a bit harsh." Althazar whispered.
I shrugged. "When else am I ever gonna get to do that?"
My grin made him smile back at me.
"Right then, let's get these off of you." Althazar said, pulling at my handcuffs.
"Hey, dude." I called to the police man. "Come unlock these."
He obeyed his orders. What choice did he have.
A small pod was waiting in the parking lot, still smoldering from Althazars speedy landing.
"Shall we take off then?" Althazar asked.
"Can you take me to Australia?"
"You'll have to point it out to me."
"I can do that." I said.
He opened the top section of the pod and lifted me in.
It was a two seater, smaller than the one we'd used in space.
Once Althazar got in the lid closed down. We buckled up and he started the engines.
"So what's happening? Why are we going to Australia?" He asked.
"My friend's been abducted." I said.
"Oh?"
"They took him in Australia. I figure if they're collecting humans they might be coming back for more tonight. With your help maybe we could rescue him." I explained.
"This friend, how important is he to you?" Althazar asked.
"He risked his life for me." I stated.
"Well, there's a good chance he may already be dead." Althazar said.
The pod lifted up and my stomach sank like an accelerated elevator ride.
"Now I must ask," Althazar said, "are you prepared to risk your life for him?"
