~~~~~~~~~~~~~Sara's POV~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I sat on the bench in my room and waited for Althazar to come back I was getting tired and a little hungry. I had no Idea how much time had passed since I woke up but it felt like the equivalent of a day. An Earth day.
Althazar opened the door to my room and came in.
"Sorry I took so long, love." He said.
"No problem. You wanna sit?" I slid over. The bench was small but I felt awkward sitting while he was just standing there.
He sat next to me. My entire right side was heated by the contact with his skin. Damn, I had forgotten about that.
"How'd it go with Aldera?" I asked
"She's all settled. I think she'll be comfortable here. You on the other hand, I think there's still a lot to explain." He answered.
I nodded. "Ya probably.. am I stupid? I mean, I feel like I'm the only one on the whole ship who knows nothing about all this." I sighed.
He laughed, "Intelligence isn't measured by how much knowledge you have on a subject. It's what you do with what you know." He murmured.
"I knew a lot about earth, but that's all irrelevant now." I said.
"Actually, that reminds me. Zilortsium wants us all to keep a record of our memories. There's a room on this ship where we're supposed write down anything and everything we remember about our home planet. I'll take you there some time. It's best if you do it early, while the images of your earth are still fresh in your mind. After being on here for a while, I hardly even think about the planet that I came from."
"How long have you been here?" I asked.
"Time is a funny thing, its warped. It isn't measured or kept track of on this ship. But.. I've been here since the beginning. I think I was the 16th species collected. We're in the hundred thousands now." He said.
"Holy crap." I muttered.
"I've been here a long time." he said.
"Well, thank you. I think I would still be freaking out right now if you weren't here" I smiled.
"So, what's left to explain?" He asked
"A lot." I laughed, "Where do I go to eat on this ship?" I asked.
"You don't, love. We don't eat."
"But I'll die! humans need food." I said.
"Not here, you don't. That's all you need," He pointed to the tube. "It gives you all the energy required."
"What the hell does it do? It's weird. How long was I in it last time?" I asked.
"No idea love, I'm not a scientist. And as far as time goes-"
"Yeah, yeah, you don't measure it." I said.
"You're catching on, darling" He laughed.
I yawned. I didn't want to admit it but I was tired as hell.
"I still want to meet with the leader." I said, "I don't plan on staying here."
"Give it a while, you'll come around. There's a lot more benefits to this thing than you know." He said.
He got up and headed for the door.
"Where are you going?" I asked.
"I'm tired." He said.
I rubbed my eyes, "me too." I admitted.
"Right then love, you know what to do." He gestured at the tube.
I groaned. I had to, didn't I? It was that or try curling up on the ground. Of course, if I did that I would starve to death.
I pushed the green button and stepped in to the tube. I watched Althazar leave the room as my head dropped and I quickly fell "asleep".
