"He agreed!" Jeongin whispered, throwing up an 'ok' sign as he exited the chiefs office. Jisung hopped with joy, patting Jeongin on the back.
He used Jeongin to get out of work for Thursday. Well, perhaps 'used' wasn't the best term; more like he requested Jeongin for a little assistance.
Together, they had managed to convince the chief that Jeongin, a young, learning officer, would obviously require some field experience and, of course, Jisung was the best man for the job. This meant that Jisung had successfully gotten out of work so he could meet Minho.
However, Jeongin was a little difficult; he demanded that if he helped Jisung get out of work, he has to be able to tag along, as well. Despite his objections, Jisung grudgingly agreed, knowing that this was his only option. Jisung made sure to let Minho know beforehand that there would be a literal child joining them. Although he also didn't seem pleased, Minho let it slide, since it was difficult enough for Jisung to get out of work.
Finally, Thursday came around and Jisung felt nervous from the moment he woke up, still thinking talking to Jang Heejin was a bad idea.
He clocked into work, meeting Jeongin, who seemed more than excited to be getting some "field experience". Throughout the day, Jisung couldn't focus on a single thing, distracted by a sickening feeling in his stomach.
Eventually, it became time for them to meet Minho and Jisung used a police car to get there, since Jeongin wouldn't stop complaining about taking the bus.
"Police officers using public transport? Are you crazy?" He said.
So, when they arrived, Minho's reaction was quite justified.
"Trying to act natural, are we?" He commented sarcastically. "It looks like you're here to arrest me, for god's sake."
"Hey, he's that guy-" Jeongin began.
"Park up and get in my car because no way are we going there in that rusty old thing." Minho interrupted.
Jisung rolled his eyes and did as told, still feeling a little unsafe in a moving vehicle with Minho driving. Throughout the journey, Jeongin was whispering questions to Jisung.
"Where are we going?"
"Who is that guy?"
"Are you sure he's not taking us to our death?"
"Yang Jeongin, if you don't zip it in the next three seconds, I'll be the one taking you to your death." Jisung said, sternly.
"Middle aged mother strikes again." Minho chuckled from the front seat.
"Oh, shut up!" Jisung grumbled, sinking into his seat.
They arrived at what appeared to be a filming site. However, it seemed that they were packing up. The set was at a bridge and it was littered with multiple members of staff, rushing about to finish up. The area was surrounded by security guards and Minho didn't hesitate before waltzing up to one of the security guards at the entrance to ask for permission to enter, while Jisung and Jeongin followed slowly behind.
"Hello, good sir." He greeted with a bright smile, while Jisung had a slightly unwelcoming scowl on his face, wishing he could be anywhere else. "We're here to see Jang Heejin."
"I'm sorry, no fans are allowed entry." The security guard responded with an unchanging poker face.
"Oh no." Minho laughed, light heartedly. "We're not fans sir, no no. We're police and we have some questions to ask him." Minho nudged Jisung, who just looked at him blankly, not taking the hint. "Your ID, Jisung." Minho muttered through gritted teeth, forcing a smile at the security guard who was watching them with an eyebrow raised. Jisung finally understood and whipped out his identification card that had his policing badge on it, proud and clear. Jeongin did the same, proudly presenting his badge.
