Jisung ran, following the direction in which the guards chased after Minho. He arrived at the entrance and saw Minho being manhandled by two or three security guards.
"Unhand me! You have no idea what you're doing!" He yelled, trying to break free from their grip. Jisung fought back a smile and walked up to them.
"You can let go. I'll take care of him." Jisung announced, causing the guards to look at him in confusion. Jisung sighed and presented his badge, once again. The guards shared a look and nodded, dropping Minho, who almost collapsed onto the floor.
"Took you long enough!" Minho huffed at Jisung, brushing his shoulders off.
"Sorry, I wasn't aware of your stupid stunt beforehand." Jisung fired back, with a sarcastic tone. Minho rolled his eyes at Jisung, ending their petty little argument.
Finally, after they had stood by Minho's car in silence for a while, they saw Jang Heejin running towards them."Professor!" He called, panting. "What are you- wait, they're with you?" He stopped what he was saying when he saw Jisung and Jeongin by Minho's side. He seemed to immediately have changed from a friendly attitude to a more hostile one.
"Who, them?" Minho looked back at Jisung and Jeongin with a forced smile that screamed 'how did you already mess this up?'. "Don't worry about them, Heejinie." Minho used an awfully cringey nickname to try and ease the tension.
"What do you want from me?"
"I just want to talk." Minho explained himself, simply. "Don't think too much." He chuckled.
Heejin still looked very uncomfortable and unwilling to say anything.
"Why don't we continue this over dinner?" Minho offered, with a wide smile.
Eventually, all four of them ended up around a table at the City Hall restaurant and all Jisung could think was how were they going to pay for anything. However, that seemed to be the least of Minho's problems.
"So, how have you been recently?" Minho asked, trying to start a friendly conversation before branching out to the more serious topics.
"I'm fine." Heejin responded, bluntly.
"How about your father? I haven't spoken to him a lot recently."
"He's the same as he always is." Heejin seemed to be giving limited responses, in fear that he could let something slip.
"Look, Heejin," Minho began with a more serious tone, "I don't want to make you uncomfortable, but I really need to talk to you about what happened on your birthday."
"Wha- not you as well." Heejin said in disbelief.
"It's important." Despite that not being the best explanation, it was all Minho could offer. "Do you know anything? Did you see someone doing something? Did someone tell you something that I ought to know?"
"Why do you think I know something about this?" Heejin raised his voice a little. "I was a victim, ok? If I knew something, then I would've told the police ages ago!"
"That's not what he told me, though." Jisung almost scoffed at his horrible lying skills.
"What did he tell you?" Minho intervened.
"Someone spiked the drinks, if I remember correctly."
"No, I didn't!" Heejin's voice adopted a tone of panic. "You're twisting my words!"
