Jisung made his way into Hyunjin's hospital room, rushing to see Minho as his fear grew within him. He was surprised to see the two of them having a normal conversation since whenever he tried, he was usually driven insane.
"So how come you didn't- Jisung!" Minho's attention was completely diverted to Jisung when he heard him at the door and he broke into a bright smile. "There you are."
Jisung offered Minho an uneasy smile as he went to check on Hyunjin.
"How are you feeling?" He asked, gingerly caressing his wound.
"I'm getting better." Hyunjin replied, cheerfully. "They told me I could go home next week!"
"That's good." Jisung was glad to see Hyunjin back to his joyful self, especially after the events of the early morning.
"Jisung." Minho whispered, catching Jisung's attention. When Jisung turned to look at him, he beckoned him while patting his pocket, reminding Jisung of the reason he was here.
"Hyunjin, give us a minute, ok? We'll be right back." He informed Hyunjin, with a reassuring smile, before following Minho into the quiet corridor.
"What happened?" Was the first thing that came out of Jisung's mouth before the door could even close behind him.
"Here." Minho reached into his pocket pulling out that stupid piece of folded paper Jisung hated so much. "Someone left it with Hyunjin while he was sleeping."
"Hyunjin?" Jisung asked, confused. Usually, the cranes came directly to him; not through someone else.
"Yes, Hyunjin." Minho sighed. "I guess they figured you would stop by."
Jisung unfolded the crane and saw the message written:
'He's not the first to be hurt by him.'
"It came with an invitation for the fundraising party Jang Dae Hoon is holding for that one politician... oh, I always forget his name," Minho mumbled the last part to himself, while Jisung read the message over and over again, trying to figure out what that meant.
"Who's not the first to be hurt by who? And who was the first?" He questioned to no one in particular as Minho peered over Jisung's shoulder to read the note.
"Perhaps, they mean Hyunjin." Minho suggested, leaning back against the wall.
"What?" Jisung furrowed his brows.
"I mean, maybe there was a reason why the invitation was left with Hyunjin this time." He shrugged. "Look, try reading it in the context of what happened last night."
"Hyunjin's not the first to be hurt by..." Jisung began.
"Jang Heejin." Minho finished, tired of Jisung's hesitation.
"But, what if they meant Jeongin? He was the one who shot, after all."
"I doubt it." Minho shook his head. "Did you see him last night? The poor kid was scared shitless."
Jisung immediately felt saddened, the image of Jeongin crying uncontrollably as he clutched Jisung's shirt flashing in his memory. He nodded, agreeing with Minho this time.
"Then we were right." Jisung muttered, clenching his fist around the crane.
"About?"
"All of this must start with the Jang family." Jisung said it as though it were blatantly obvious.
"How so?" Minho raised his eyebrows, enjoying playing devil's advocate.
"Heejin must've... he-" Jisung, for some reason, failed to explain his thinking in words.
