June 23rd.
Dear Diego & Adria.
I miss you guys a lot, so I thought I'd start to write you letters every now and then, when I feel like it. I hope that's okay :)
A lot has happened these last few weeks, I got attacked by a bear as you might've heard of. It was very scary. I don't know how I survived, but my mamá says some nearby people heard me screaming and came to the rescue and brought me to safety. I hope you guys are doing well? I personally have a lot of mixed feelings right now. My stomach hurts like a perra, but it's getting better I think. This nice magical family took me in not so long ago. One of them have the gift to heal a wound, by just making me food, that's why we left, so I could get magical treatment here. And believe it or not I think it's slowly working, even though I keep puking it up, so I only digest little at a time. I'm always hungry and I'm getting a bit scrawny lately, but it's really no big deal.
This boy from the family has been visiting me every day now. His name is Camilo and he's super sweet. Yesterday he came in the nursery I'm staying in, with a pair of earrings for me. He said he got them in a birthday gift last year, but didn't like them, so I could have them. I'm wearing them right now actually.
I've slowly been getting along with every family member, one by one. They're all very humble and pleasant to be around. I wish you could meet them all.
I've especially been getting along with this girl, Mirabel a lot. She's the one who lent me her room. After the first two days of my staying, we became roommates and are now both sleeping in the nursery toge"Y/N I NEED YOUR HELP" Mirabel kicked the door in with wide eyes and a not-so-serious-yet-serious-expression on her face.
"Wh-what happened?" I almost dropped my pen out of shock of the dramatic entrance.
"It's my dad." She collapsed on her bed, her arms spread out to the sides.
"What,Is he okay?" I started to get a bit worried.
She sat up. "Yes, it's his birthday in A WEEK and I still don't know what to get him!" She started pacing around in circles.
"Well, what does he like?" I asked
"I don't know, definitely not bees I guess" she mumbled, fidgeting with her hands.
"Okay, uhm... what does he do in his spare time then?" I tried, leaning my back against the wall.
"You know, dad stuff." She looked at me, making sure I got what she meant. I didn't.
"...like what?" My face paused, I felt a little dumb. Was I supposed to know this?
"Like, sitting with his feet up, or cutting wood, or long monologues about how to use a screwdriver, or his family-"
"Family." I mumbled to myself.
"What? Do you have an idea?" Her face lit up.
"I think so." I smiled at her.
"You're the best!" She gave me a soft squeeze, being careful not to go too hard on my fragile body.Mirabel, then started using her sewing talents, to make him a pair of pants with all the family members heads stitched into the back pockets. It actually didn't look too bad, if I had to say so myself.
I didn't know mr. Madrigal that well, so all I did was a water colored drawing of him.
To be honest, I'm actually very good at drawing/painting. And I'm not saying that to brag, I've just always loved painting.
It started when I got my gift, I began to see the world differently. I had some sort of vision about how the world works and I became extremely aware of how things were put together like little puzzle bricks. It overwhelmed me that I could just simplify how everything just made too much sense to me. I learned to cope, by sketching the little things in the world that just made sense. One day I came home with an extremely accurate drawing of a horse to my parents, when I was 5 and they hung it on the refrigerator and told me I did a good job. I soon enough realized my talent for drawing and it became my passion. I now enjoy it as a free time hobby kind of thing.
