Before I start this chapter, I gotta show y'all the tiny drawing my friend did for me of the dress I pictured for y'all :)) (the one above)
Chapter 24
"So, what's first on the list?" I asked and Camilo pulled out the curled piece of paper from his pocket.
"Azúcar y huevos." He then read out loud.
"Okay, I'll get the sugar, you get the eggs and we'll meet back here again when we're done?" I suggested and he nodded in agreement.
I turned on my heel and our ways separated.- - -
I was on my way back to meet up with Camilo, when I ran right into someone and the two of our bodies collapsed into each other and landed on the stone-ally's hard ground.
"I'm so sorry" I apologized and quickly got up to dust off my dress and give the person a hand.
"No, it's goo-... y/n? What are you doing here?" Marcos grinned and took my hand to get up.
"Shopping." I explained myself.
"Cool. Mind if I help you? I've got plenty of time on my hands." Marcos asked with that same smile with a dimple in each side.
There was no way I could spend that long time with Camilo and Marcos around each other like that. I would go insane from not only the awkwardness, but also the way Camilo still refuses to keep an ongoing conversation with this guy."Sorry, I'm actually done now." I lied.
"That's okay. To be honest, I just wanted an excuse to talk to you, but I don't want to keep you waiting like this. Have a good day, y/n." He gave me a sad smile and silently turned away from me.
I felt a knot tie in my stomach. Why did I feel so guilty all of a sudden?
I had to shake it off and go back to Camilo, he's probably waiting for me right.I skipped my way through town and used my gift to guide my way to Camilo.
He was standing in front of a blacksmith booth and looking around. I'm guessing he was looking for me.
I then sneaked my way behind him and tapped his left shoulder, but kept my head at his right shoulder, then tapped his right one and ran up in front of him with my hands behind my back.
"I'm done." I grinned at him and he gave me a crooked smirk.
"Me too." He said and took out the even more flossed paper from his pocket.
"How much do we have left?" I asked him and put my basket on a little stool beside the booth.
"Hold on, let me count." He muttered and gazed back on the shopping list.I looked around for something to do while he counted until my eyes landed on something I was avoiding at any costs.
Marcos was strolling down the street, looking around at the people and it was only a matter of time before he saw and recognized me and I did'nt need that after our encounter from before. If he saw me, he would first of all be disappointed that I turned him down on purpose, but also Camilo and him would have to interact and I was not in for the tension.
I panically looked around for a way to escape my near destiny and put my hood from my cloak on.
That was when my eyes landed back on Camilo, rambling up the numbers he counted with a sigh.I had no idea how I didn't think of hiding myself or just running away, but at the time I had only one plan, a plan that I wouldn't in a million years think I would have the courage to do, but this was an emergency situation. I just couldn't get myself to confront Marcos and let him hate me like that, so I quickly whispered "don't resist." At Camilo and he barely mumbled a "twenty three.... Wha-" before I pulled him by neck of his ruana and crashed my lips against his to hide my face from Marcos' gaze.
My heart started pumping like crazy and I felt his soft lips against mine and suddenly I heard him drop the shopping list in shock. My eyes were closed and my hands stopped their tight grip on his ruana and moved their way up, around his neck instead.
After a moment of him freezing in place, he gave in and kissed me right back.
I felt Camilo's hands place themselves on the back of my head and his lips pulled together in response to mine and a million butterflies filled my stomach with soft tickles.
