From that day on I've had nightmares. I haven't been able to wake since I drank from that mug. I guess this is apart of the transition. The body changing..adapting. I've felt a presence in the room, but it doesn't feel like my grandmother. It feels strange, it could be Jake... Or Damon. I can feel everything, the dust in the room, the trees swaying in the wind, the leaves lightly falling on my house, the vibrations downstairs, the breathing of my grandmother, the blood pulsing in her neck.
My eyes snap open. NO! I must not. I rub my eyes and get out of bed. My body feels like I've been ran over 1000 times. I turn to my nightstand finding flowers, there were daisies, roses, lilies, sunflowers and tulips. I count them and notice that its one flower per day that I was in bed unable to get up. I begin to get ready, I must talk to Dawn and Jake. I've completely ignored Dawn, and Jake well... his brother completely blew the lid off of me, he needs and explanation.
I look threw my closet and begin to discard clothes, these things don't appeal to me anymore. I start piling clothes and throwing them on the ground. Suddenly the infamous L.W Box falls out of my closet. I catch it seconds before it hits the ground. "Vampire perk?" I smile. I open the box once again, removing the contents. I hesitantly open the book that my mother left me. I take a deep breath and read.
Lacie I hope that when you open this you are ready. You will go through many changes, some you cant control and some you can. Your emotions will be heighten, anything you felt as a human will be felt 100x more. That means love, anger, sadness and fear. It will feel as if your personality has changed. You will never be vulnerable to the world again, all scars, marks and scratches will be gone. It will be a new slate for you, unless you hold on to your humanity. Your humanity will keep you sane, letting that go will erase your mind and things will be very different. It is very hard to try and find that humanity again, you will need an emotional trigger. You will also notice that your motions are slightly quicker, and coordinated. There will also be physical changes too, your eyes will grow an amber color, you can run faster, have quicker reflexes. This you must control, as soon as you turn a man called Stephen Hills will find you, he is the vampire from long ago who married the Ezra witch. There is royal vampire blood in our family and you are next in line to rule.
I couldn't read any further, I put the book down, dressed, went to my nightstand drank from the mug and jumped out the window.
