I get to Dawns house pretty quick. I take a deep breath and knock on her door. I look at the time its 10am, so hopefully she is up. A minute later, Dawn opens the door, her face looks wary and she has her hair in two messy braids.
"Lacie!" She quickly hugs me, "Omg"! Her arms cross, "Where the hell have you been? ".
My eyes go wide "I.. ah... had a family emergency".I'm sorry".
She looks at me and takes me inside. "And your phone..did it break?"
"Actually I lost that", I say, eyes drifting to the ground. She shrugs and takes me upstairs into her room. "Have I missed a lot from school", I say biting my lip.
"Not really, we learn the same things over and over". I sigh in relief, as we sit on her bouncy bed.
"So what about you and Jake?" "Oh.. I'm going to see him after, I came to see you." "He's barely been at school".
"Oh how strange", I say rubbing my arms. "So is there any drama at school"?
Dawns eyes light up "Omg so much!" She giggles. "So Agatha went completely bonkers... Damon is MIA, and..
I completely spaced out after that, should I tell Dawn what I am. I mean I don't know, she is my best friend, I trust her.
'Dawn"... "
Yes",She says.
"I have to tell you something..".
Dawn sighs, "Me too".
"What?" I say.
"Well I've had a bit of family problems too".
"Omg, are you okay?"
"Yeah, and I have to tell you something, but you have to promise me you won't tell anyone."
"What is it?"
"Well I'm... I'm a witch".
"WHAT.. No.." I laugh "Stop kidding".
She looks me straight in the eye, rips a pillow, and mumbles some words. Suddenly the feathers in the pillow fly around us. My breath catches in my throat,
"A witch!".
