Y/N POV
Our usual night started, by 8pm the people who are up for a just a regular pub drink starts to get in. And an hour later our back door entrance opens.
Pitbull is packed almost all the time and today is Wednesday too, weekends starts during this day. Cause if you want to drink, why wait for the weekend right?
Everyone who works for Tony are let's say from some kind of situation they're running away or hiding from. Just like me. And same birds just naturally flock together. We're a small school, with students on detention class and Tony is our night teacher.
It is what it is. Some of us here even owned their own business before but when they dived deep to bankcrupy, loan shark debts and what not, they have to escape and find some place they can't be found. Cause we chose not to be found. That I guess is also the difference between a person who is just lost and someone who is hiding. When you're lost, at some point you can be found, but when you hide obviously you don't want to be found.
I am the latter.
Kwan came and slammed the tray on the bar after he served some booze to some group of men on table 7.
"I swear to God, imma have a day with this motherfucker outside." He growls with his dark eyes full of anger.
Kwan is an ex car dealer, he got 2 car showroom in Busan when he went on hiatus after shutting the entire business after sharks came after him.I stood up from my spot to talk to him when I saw Tony coming over the bar already.
"Calm down K. You know that's not gonna do any good to you ayt?...smoke it out and forget it..ur not there yet..we not there yet" he lightly tapped his shoulder and handed him a bottle of beer signalling him to cool down at behind the pub.
K just exhaled his frustration and left the bar.
Tony took his spot in the meantime.
"Hey whatsup with K?" I asked him while I stood beside him and helped him clean up the bar and tend beers for some guys ordering from us.
"Some ghosts from the past he recognized" Tony simply answered while slidding a beer glass to a guy on the far right of the bar table.
"A bad ghost eh?"
"Yup..you got it.." he replied
"No shit..did they recognize him?" I asked worriedly..
"I don't think so..maybe they would if he just gained a tattoo in the ass but he's a walking mural now..so nah..don't worry" Tony knows everybody's story, well at least most of the story, that's his policy, you wanna hide with him, he needs to get you and him away from trouble.
So like Kwan, he knows mine too..
Twenty minutes later Eun came, the ex judo athlete for his bartending shift.
He fist bumped Tony before he left to head to our back side business.
I remembered the gig Jia told me so i thought of having a word with Tony.
"Yo wait up T!" I got out of the bar as I followed him..
He took a stick from his Parliament box bout to smoke when he heard me.
He pointed his finger to the exit telling me to follow him there with whatever it is that I need.
I fasten my steps to catch up.
I was catching my breathe when I finally reached him outside.
"Go on girl, breathe" as he chuckled while he continued to smoke.
"Ohkaayy.. I'm good.." I said as I stood straight..It's so damn cold..times like this tempts me to ask for a puff..but no.
"Whatsup y/n?" He now asks as he put his stick down and exhaled his smoke.
"So, I kind of heard that you were hiring.." damn I'm so bad at this and it's the first time in the longest time I asked him for a favor.
"Uhuh..you referring someone?" He raised his brow,,sensing he knows what this talk is about.
"Uhmm..me" I answered him directly.
And he laughed.
"That's a good one y/n..okay get back to work!" He's trying to shoo me away.
"Hey I'm serious." I told him
"I know..but No" his face changed, like a Dad telling me, no more playing.
"But i really need it T. I mean I'm serious this time. That's a thousand grand" I was trying to plead.
"Yup that's a nice thousand grand, but do you even know what the job is?" He sarcastingly answered back as he pull another stick to puff.
"Like Jia's?..i mean im assuming you're branching out right?" How dumb can I be, like seriously.
"Tsk. Tsk tsk..nah y/n.." he shook his head while waiving his hand no.
"It's priced like that for a reason, you think I'm getting someone paid for a thousand grand for nothing?" He explained further while pointing his middle finger on his side temple.
"You can't do it y/n, and even if you can I won't let you.." he scoffed.
"Try me." I simply said.
