The next day after the roller rink adventure, they halted their travelling again to stop at another park. This park was a lot bigger than the other they had stopped at on their road trip. And, much more intimidating. So this time, Freddy stuck close to Gregory. The two walked hand in hand through the park with Freddy handing out the fliers to parents and kids with a bright smile. Gregory could tell that the expression was real, a genuine smile. He thought back to a twisted face framed by blonde locks and a horrid twisted fake smile... no, he didn't need to think of that now. Her smile only made him upset.

Gregory walked quietly with Freddy in the park, just letting himself look at the scenery. Eventually, they heard the sound of poppy music coming from up ahead. It sounded kind of similar to the Glamrock's music. He watched as Freddy looked over, his bright eyes catching something and making his genuine smile stretch even further.

"Hey DJ!" Freddy shouted and waved as he pulled Gregory over towards the music.

Gregory looked over to see a tall boy with bright almost pastel rainbow dreads and big headphones. They had funny blue eyebrows and a wide smile filled with braces and colourful elastics. They wore a white hoodie and a graphic shirt as well as some black ripped shorts and clunky boots. Their overall soft and pastel aesthetic contrasted with their dark skin, but it definitely was a good contrast. They waved eagerly at Freddy, moving their headphones down around their neck. They had gathered a small crowd in the park, mostly people just wanting to use the music from their boombox as background noise.

Freddy walked over and chuckled, "Damien! I really didn't expect to see you here. What are you doing?"

DJ, or, Damien as Freddy now called them, just gave Freddy a toothy smile as they brought their hands up in front of them. Gregory watched mesmerized as they moved their hands quickly in various shapes and motions. His programming immediately clicked... they were using sign language!

'Hi Freddy. Just chilling and brainstorming some new backing tracks,' the tall boy responded as they looked curiously at Gregory, 'who is this?' They signed at the end.

Before Freddy could respond, Gregory moved his hands to sign back, 'I'm Gregory. You must be the person who does the background music for the Glamrock's songs. I liked what you were playing earlier,'

While Freddy was filled with pure shock and confusion, DJ luckily didn't notice his reaction as they just smiled at Gregory and signed back, a little bashful, 'Thank you. I'm Damien, it's nice to meet you Gregory,'

Thinking on his feet, Freddy awkwardly laughed off his shock and added on with an encouraging pat to Gregory's shoulder, "Wow, my cousin did a great job teaching you sign language didn't she? You're a real superstar Gregory!"

It was Gregory's turn to be bashful as he realized he got a bit too excited with his programming and slipped up. Thankfully, Freddy covered for him and the rest of the gang weren't here to question them.

"Well Damien, it was nice seeing you here. Stay in contact with Manon if you have any more tracks for us to use. We really appreciate it," Freddy said a short farewell, waving to DJ. They waved back and Gregory waved too. It was a short meeting, but he got the idea that Damien was more independent and introverted than the Glamrocks. And they only looked to be about 20 despite their impressive height. So Freddy left him to jam out and walked hand and hand with Gregory through the park to hand out more flyers.

"He was really nice," Gregory commented offhandedly.

Freddy nodded, "Damien is a very nice kid. But they don't use 'he' Gregory, they're non-bibary. That means that they don't identify with a specific gender. So when you talk about them, you use They, Them, and their instead of he or she," he explained and hoped that Gregory was able to understand it. He watched as Gregory's expression slowly shifted from confused to understanding.
