Freddy stopped by every room he passed. Gregory had to be down here somewhere. He had to find him. He felt like he was going insane wandering around in these hallways. He kept checking his cameras now and then, hoping to somehow spot him there.
With a defeated sigh, he scratched his neck and checked another room. It was really wearing down on his nerves. All of the strange machines, odd stains, miscellaneous gore stored away for study. He didn't know what he would do if he found Gregory down here in pieces. He would probably lose it.
An ear piercing alarm broke his concentration. He quickly covered his ears and looked around for the source. It seemed to be from above him. He checked the cameras and saw that metal doors were lowering over the few exits he had found. It looked like escaping would be a lot harder than getting in. When the alarms stopped, he flicked through the cameras again.
This time however, he was surprised to see a guard on the feed. Behind them was a massive shadow and a strange white mask. Neither were what caught his attention though. What caught his breath in his throat was that the guard was holding a kid in his arms. He looked to be about the same size as Gregory. The light in the hallway was too dim for him to see much. The little kid had his arms wrapped around the guard, and he almost looked like he was sleeping. Freddy checked where the camera was on his map before running in that direction.
He remembered one of the boys that had gone missing looked similar to Gregory, so he had to be careful not to keep his hopes up. He would find the kid and the guard first and then he would be able to tell if it really was Gregory.
It looked as if the guard had spotted him on the cameras as well as he was looking at his own watch. Freddy kept walking calmly to his location. Shockingly enough, the guard was walking in his direction too. He honestly expected him to turn tail and go another way. They got closer and closer, and now they could hear each other as well as see each other.
In the dim light of the hallway, the two 'guards' now stood a few feet from each other. The other guard had their hand hovering over the gun at their hip, the massive masked shadow nowhere in sight. Unfortunately, Freddy only had a taser. He was outmatched. He raised his hands up to show that he meant no harm as he spoke.
"I'm just down here looking for the missing kids... I'm guessing you found one?" Freddy tried to reason with him. The guard looked surprised, and his hand hesitated above his holster. Slowly, he moved his hand away.
"I'm guessing you're the intruder then? I came down here to find you, but instead, I found two scared kids and a bunch of creepy shit. I don't suppose you have a security card with high enough clearance to raise the gates?" He asked as he readjusted his grip on the kid.
Freddy could tell now that it wasn't Gregory. He was sad to see that the boy was injured. He cleared his throat and replied, "I don't think any of the cards I swiped are good enough, no. The other boy you found... what did they look like? Are there any other kids down here? I haven't found any of the others that went missing,"
The guard sighed, "I don't think there's any chance of getting the others out. I've combed this whole place, and the two kids never mentioned anyone else with them. The other boy I found, he had brown hair and brown eyes. He told me his name was Gregory. Do you know him? I don't think he was one of the boys that were already missing. He must have only gone missing recently,"
Freddy was instantly relieved. Gregory was here, and in one piece, "Yes I know him... do you know where he went?"
The guard scratched their neck and huffed, "I'm not sure. He ran off saying he couldn't control himself or something? It was kind of freaky thinking back..."
