Michael chased the red shadow through the hallway. "Hey! Hold up or I'll shoot!" He said as he pulled his pistol out of his belt. He hadn't had the chance to use it on anything but stationary targets, but he wasn't half bad at it. He aimed and waited for some kind of response from the figure, but none came. As he was about to shoot, the figure shot up the wall and into an open vent. He watched in horror as they scuttled out of sight. He faintly cursed under his breath and shone his flashlight into the vent. Nothing.

He wiped his brow and caught his breath. Whatever that thing was, it was fast. Super fucking creepy. And pretty small too. Maybe he was just chasing a fucking rat... 'man, you're an idiot Michael. Chasing a fucking rat through the halls,' he thought. He flicked his radio on to air his grievances, "Hey, Vanessa right?"

"What?" The voice spoke back. She was clearly not amused.

"Sheesh, just wanted to know if I could get the access code for the cameras down here. Kind of hard to find someone if I can't tell where I'm going, right?"

"Figure it out yourself kid," she responded coldly.

"Wait wait wait! Pretty please?? Pretty please with a cherry on top? Come onnnnn I'm flying blind over here!" He pleaded into the speaker before waiting a long while for a response.

The guard's cold voice finally broke the building silence, "198"

"Sweet! Thanks. Buy you coffee after this? Huh? Huh?" Michael teased her. He could tell she had a massive stick up her-

"No. Get back to work or you're fired,"

"Roger that!" He responded obediently as he zipped his lips and turned the radio off. He slipped the radio back onto his belt and opened up his watch interface. He input the code to unlock the basement floor camera system, and the screen lit up with the new cameras and floor layout. He was surprised to find out that this floor even had cameras in the vent system. They looked to be a newer addition as well. He briefly flicked through the cameras and spotted a dark shadow in the vents, but this shadow was much bigger than the one he was chasing. He flicked to the next camera and was met with a creepy white face. Chills went down his spine as the face disappeared just as abruptly.

Was that the intruder? Why the heck were they crawling through the vents? And what was that creepy mask? Eugh. He mustered up his courage and noted the location of the cameras. He marched through the halls in that direction, flashing his light along the floor as he walked. He watched the cameras as he went, and he saw that there was another figure behind them. They seemed to have fallen through a weaker part of the ventilation tunnel. The creepy figure paused before continuing on. Whatever fell out of the vent didn't climb back in, so he knew that it was out in the hallways now. He didn't want to approach if they seemed dangerous. So he tried to find them on the hallway cameras. He had a job to do, but he would prefer to prioritize staying alive. And if that meant being extra cautious, that's what he would do.

He watched them on the camera as they walked in the middle of the hallway. He was a bit confused, though he kept watching and didn't move forward. A figure slowly emerged from out of the camera's viewpoint. The figure eventually stepped into a lighter part of the hallway and Michael froze. Was that a kid?! They had messy hair, looking oddly like... no, no, it wasn't Evan. Evan isn't here. He really had to stop reading the news about all these disappearances, it was freaking him out. He watched as the kid ran off camera. Michael couldn't wait around any longer, he charged forward down the hall with his gun drawn and ready and his flashlight off.

Gregory crawled through the vents behind Marie. He wasn't sure which way to go so he could only follow them closely and hope they knew the way. Evan was starting to fall asleep on Marie's back. He had already burned a lot of energy, so it wouldn't be any problem for him to rest a little now.
