Freddy and Manon sat down in the Wilde's kitchen at the big dining room table. Manon didn't say anything. He just stared at Freddy with a neutral expression, like he was waiting for something. Meanwhile, Freddy felt like he was slowly boiling under the surface. His mind was racing as he quickly tried to think of whether or not he should let Gregory stay with Manon instead. He was doubtful of himself. He wasn't sure he would be able to look after Gregory properly. It was eating away at him inside. Finally, he broke the silence, "Manon... listen, I-... I've been thinking, maybe it would be better if...?"

Manon cut him off immediately, "Nope, that pipsqueak is your responsibility, not mine. I already have my hands full with Sunny," Manon then looked away for a moment before sighing and turning back to Freddy, "And I think you need him more than he needs you honestly... You've been getting better, sure, but you haven't been actually dealing with any of it. You have to get over it Freddy. You didn't kill Bonnie. It was an accident. That piece of shit driver has already paid the price for what he did, you don't need to carry the guilt with you when they've already moved on,"

Freddy stared at Manon, stunned with his mouth open.

"Close your trap, or you'll start catching flies. Everyone around here is too scared to push you out of your comfort zone. Someone had to fucking do it. Now, get back in there and tell him the good news, alright?"

Freddy sputtered as he tried to say something, but his mouth failed him. He really didn't know how to respond. Manon sighed and squeezed the bridge of his nose.

"Remember at the park? When Gregory met Sunny? You asked me that day what I would do if Sunny wasn't my kid, but he needed someone to look out for him. You remember what I said? So, stop second guessing yourself. I see the way you look at him. You want to protect him, you want him to look up to you, you want him to rely on you. So, let him. And let yourself rely on him too. We'll all stick with you no matter what decision you make, Frederic. Just stop being a pansy and take the final step,"

Manon's monologue was interrupted by his phone buzzing again. He sighed and left the room to answer it, leaving Freddy alone with his thoughts.

He was still a little dazed, but he obediently closed his mouth and tried to wipe the shocked expression off his face.

He thought it over as calmly as he could. Manon clearly trusted him to take care of Gregory. And Gregory seemed to like staying with the Glamrocks and the Wilde family. If he really adopted him, and maybe even let him join the band, would the kid really be happy? He thought back to how happy Gregory was when Chica made him his costume. He remembered the friends he had already made on their road trip. And... he remembered Gregory's face as he clung onto him like a lifeline and cried his heart out. He thought about what others had done to make him so sad and vulnerable. Deep down he already knew, the kid at least saw him as a friend he could trust. So, he mustered up his courage and stood up.

He went into the living room to see Manon getting Sunny up and ready. He was juggling the sleeping kid while trying to put on his coat and boots. Freddy almost laughed but he quickly covered his mouth to avoid waking him up. He saw Gregory sitting on the couch, smiling at him with a bit of worry on his face. He wondered why the kid was worried all of a sudden? Did he not want Sunny to leave? He shook it off and helped Manon with Sunny.

"Freddy, just talk to him, okay?" Manon whispered as he slipped his own shoes on and got ready to leave. Freddy nodded and held the door for him as the tall lanky man walked away to his car. He slowly closed the door and turned back to Gregory in the living room. He slowly sat down on the couch next to him and cleared his throat.
