Okay usually I am number one to grumble when someone has a song along with a reading passage but if you want to be in the same mood I was when I wrote this please feel free to listen to Say Something by A Great Big World... I'm addicted to the song and the heartbreak it describes.

I pulled at the hem of my skirt again as I shifted slightly in the hovercraft's stiff seats. Usually, I felt like I could sleep on them peacefully but today they were stiff and bore into my back and bottom like stone. I accidently brushed my hip against Pierce and his frame stiffened against my contact. If it was possible for him to get anymore like stone.

I sighed as he pressed himself against the door of the hovercraft in order to detach himself from my contact. I glanced up at him and my eyes started burning with my unshed tears. It was getting harder to keep them dammed up and I feared that the overflow was on the horizon. I cleared my throat hoping the sensation would give me more time.

"I....." I started and Pierce's eyes closed. His lips thinned. He looked pained by my interruption of the silence. "This is ridiculous. Pierce, talk to me," I whimpered as I reached out my hand to force him to look at me.

His hand snapped out and grasped my wrist before I could touch his face. The pressure gave off a painful discomfort on the small bones in my hand. I gasped. He instantly led my hand away and then placed his back by his side.

"You are the one sending me away Pierce. The least you can do is say something," massive pools filled at my bottom lash and overflowed softly down my cheek.

Pierce shifted slightly and I glanced up in hope he was going to oblige. Instead the familiar glow of the Comm Unit appeared and I snapped. I couldn't stop the tears. I couldn't stop the sobbing. My heart was being torn in many different directions and the only family I had left was abandoning me like the rest of the universe had.

I reached over and pulled the Comm Unit off of his arm throwing it across the cab before he could react. It smacked against the wall separating us from Jon with a cracking sound. Pierce's eyes went wide as he made eye contact for the first time as I squat on the floor of the cab facing him. He looked lost and unsure as we continued to stare at each other. It made me feel horrible again.

"Say it," I begged and Pierce's eyes went heavy and iron like. He shook his head trying to look away but I grasped his shoulders shaking him. "Say it," I screamed in his face as tears raced down my cheeks puddling on the floor. Pierce's expression remained hollow and heavy.

"I..." it was his turn to be unsure of how to start.

"You Black Hole," I whispered. I shook my head wiping the tears and the mascara from around my eyes. I closed my eyes forcing myself to stop and adjusted to sit back in the chair next to him. I glanced out the window propping up my head with my chin. The rest of the ride was quiet. Every now and then I could feel his eyes on me briefly but I didn't turn. It was over.

We pulled into the passage of a large mechanical port. It towered over us in its glory of metal and gray mechanics. It was a large gray dome harboring various shuttles. Members of various cultures busily scurried in and out of it getting to their destination. It was busy. Our ride came to a stop near the front door and Jon got out walking around. I was running out of time. As he went to open my door, I pulled it closed again surprising him on the outside.

My heart raced as I glanced back at Pierce.

"Let me go," I stated and he looked at me. His eyes rimmed with tears and his lower lip protruded slightly. He looked down at his hands as the few tears fell splashing against his tailored shirt. We sat there for what seemed like an eternity before he finally leaned over me and forced the door open. As I glanced out at the open word he gently placed his lips softly to the right side of my ear.
